Are you asking how to switch from natural gas to propane? call a propane company they can get you started, disconect the gas meter and they may be able to hook the propane tank to that line.

PRoane to natural gas

Natural gas has a much lower calorific value than either propane or butane and so the burner will need to use a much larger volume of gas to produce a similar amount of heat.

If the supply pipework is able to provide the increased flow of gas and the exhaust vent is suitable it should be possible to fit a new burner or perhaps re-jet it.

I suggest you direct your enquiries to the manufacturer, there might be a conversion kit available. For your own safety such work should be carried out only by a suitably qualified person who can ensure the burner is efficient and unlikely to poison the users.

Tip

Changing your gas appliance from natural gas to LP or vice versa.

You have an LP gas stove which you really like and would like to take to a new home but the new home has a natural gas hookup. Since natural gas is already available it would be convenient to be able to use it. Can you convert your unit over to work on natural gas?

Yes it is possible to convert any LP gas appliance to natural gas or from natural gas to LP. The only difference is the size of the orifice used in the burner.

LP gas is composed of a much larger molecule than natural gas and requires a larger orifice to output the same amount of gas as a natural gas unit at the same setting. Therefore if you used an LP stove on natural gas it would produce too much heat and burn rather intensely. If you used a natural gas stove on LP it would not have much flame at all. You can see the problem. The solution is also obvious. You need the correct orifice.

Changing the orifice is easy. It is located in the middle of the burner and unscrews out of the unit. Install the new one the opposite way. Do not overtighten it.Usually the burners are made of soft metal and can strip easily.

The parts you would need are available at most good appliance stores but I would recommend the following site http://www.repairclinic.com . The parts will be cheaper at repairclinic. They have parts for almost any brand and a great search engine. They also have excellent videos showing how to make the repair.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

How do I know if my Caloric Heritage gas range is propane or natural gas? It is a used stove that was given to us

Stoves are usually sent from the factory set for natural gas. they have to be converted to Propane. If it is set for propane the flame will be very low on natural gas. If set for natural gas on propane the flame will be very large. The orifices for natural gas are much larger than propane orifices. and the regulator is converted acordingly.

I have a imperial so24 is this model natural gas or proane

Hello there

All the info about their products are available here http://imperialrange.com/resourcecenter.php

I cannot seem to find your Model

From their site, I got this.
All Imperial Mfg. Co. equipment is manufactured for use with the type of gas specified on the rating plate

RATING PLATE:
Before making any connections to the fryer, check the rating plate to be sure the fryer specifications concur
with the type of gas to be supplied to the fryer. The rating plate is located on the inside of the door
.
Information on this plate includes model and serial numbers. When communicating with the factory about a unit or requesting special parts or information, this data is essential for proper identification. Other information on this plate is the BTU/hr input of the burners, operating gas pressure in inches WC, and whether the unit is orificed
for natural or propane gas. Pilot lighting instructions are also located in the same area

Have a look at the rating plate on the machine for the type.

Btu rating on natural gas meter

Gas meters are usually rated in cubic feet per minute (CFM) not BTU. there are 1027 BTU per cubic foot so do the math. Try the link below Btu rating on natural gas meter

Hooked up proane tank used once then no flame on grill. There is propane in the tank but no propane flows out of it either when hooked up to the grill or when opening the valve directly on the tank. This...

The valve on the tank has an internal valve that will not allow you to release propane into the atmosphere. It must be connected to a regulator line in order to open.
It sounds like your regulator has failed. Remove the regulator assembly, inspect it carefully for blockage or hose kinks. If there none, try replacing the regulator assembly.

I have a small counter top fryer set up for lp gas how do i change to nat

check the supplier for the conversion kit.the kit contains burner orifice, pilot orifice and gas valve spring which are commonly needed for conversion from propane to natural gas or from natural gas to propane.
****natural gas orifice has larger bore than propane, gas valve spring for propane is thicker than for natural gas.
