Using Dragon Speak, 8: Blocked access due to, "Vocabulary General-Large is incompatible"???

I am very frustrated with DNS, version 8. After using same user name for over 1 yr. I now get a 'blocking' message, ""VOCABULARY you have chosen, General-Large is incompatible or invalid".to my knowledge I never changed any of the 'specs'. How do I correct this and avoid this from happening again?

ALSO- will DNS 8 work if I remove it from hard drive (C) on my laptop and put it onto its own portable flash drive? It takes up so-o much space on hard drive... How do I do this?

Thanks! (from a newbie)

The issue is likely caused by a Windows System Restore. You have a couple options to resolve. If you backed up your user training files, restore them, if not, then Create a new user training profile. CLICK HERE for easy-to-follow directions for creating a new user training profile.

As for installing it to a USB drive, I'm not sure, but the application make numerous writes to the windows registry, so I would not recommend installing to a removable drive.

Find proxy server address

Changing TCP/IP settings Win 7 TCP/IP defines how your computer communicates with other computers.
To make it easier to manage TCP/IP settings, we recommend using automated Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). DHCP automatically assigns Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to the computers on your network, if your network supports it. If you use DHCP, then you don't have to change your TCP/IP settings if you move your computer to another location, and DHCP doesn't require you to manually configure TCP/IP settings, such as Domain Name System (DNS) and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS). To enable DHCP or change other TCP/IP settings, follow these steps:
  1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, typeadapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
  2. Right-click the connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_48.jpg If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, click either Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and then click Properties. 25e7e385-9327-4f7d-aab0-afa5aaf952ba_49.jpgThe Network Connection Properties dialog box
  4. To specify IPv4 IP address settings, do one of the following:
    • To get IP settings automatically using DHCP, click Obtain an IP address automatically, and then click OK.
    • To specify an IP address, click Use the following IP address, and then, in the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway boxes, type the IP address settings.
  5. To specify IPv6 IP address settings, do one of the following:
    • To get IP settings automatically using DHCP, click Obtain an IPv6 address automatically, and then click OK.
    • To specify an IP address, click Use the following IPv6 address, and then, in the IPv6 address, Subnet prefix length, and Default gateway boxes, type the IP address settings.
  6. To specify DNS server address settings, do one of the following:
    • To get a DNS server address automatically using DHCP, click Obtain DNS server address automatically, and then click OK.
    • To specify a DNS server address, click Use the following DNS server addresses, and then, in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes, type the addresses of the primary and secondary DNS servers.

Hello, I cant log in or access any pages, it says google may have moved or is no longer available says that to every site I try, please help.

Run your malware checker. It would seem as if you have a "Hijacker" these programs divert your internet requests to their own sites. It would also be worth checking that you have a DNS server, these act as a kind of index for websites. There are a few good and free (not tied to large companies using your data to make money. This page will give you a list (after you remove the malware that is infecting your computer)

I havve been unable to access farmville for a week now. I have tried updating flash player (Abode) and also tried google chrome, nothing seems to work. Please help.

I would also check to make sure that you are using the latest version of java.
you can check on this site to make sure your version is current, and get an updated version if need be.

If your java is current, then it sounds like it may be a cache issue.
i would first download and install CCleaner., install and run it.

Try going to the farmville site.
If you cant get there using the url, try typing in your browser address bar;

if you can get to the site that way, then it is a stale or corrupt DNS entry in your DNS cache. to clear that out,
need to go to a command prompt.
In XP, go to start menu, run, then type in CMD.
When the dos box comes up, type in     ipconfig /flushdns.

if you are using vista or windows 7, then go to the start menu, search all programs and files, and then type in   cmd  and then hit the enter key.
When the dos box comes up, type in     ipconfig /flushdns. and hit the enter key.

Try the site again.
If it doesnt load, then next thing would be to try pinging the site.
Back in the same DOS box, type in,     ping then hit enter

you will see a message with this as the first line,
Pinging [] with 32 bytes of data:
there will be several other lines underneath too, but if you recieve the message that the host is unreachable, then your computer cant find the farmville site.

If you arent using a router or hub, skip this step
If you are using a router or hub, i would try plugging your network cable directly into your DSL or cable modem. Then try accessing the site.
If you can access this way then there is a rule of some sort in your router that is blocking the site, and your router would need to be reconfigured.

If that doesnt work, next thing i would check would be your firewall settings. This site may be blocked. Without knowing what firewall you are using, it would be a very lengthy post to walk you through the process of checking each one.
Also if you have any url filters, popup blockers or antispyware programs, this site may have become blacklisted. Some of the adservers on the free sites do serve out javascripts that are detected as malicious or dangerous, and some are, but depending on what your AV/firewall product is an exploit may or may not have been caught and it could lead to blacklisting this site.
If you need help with checking your firewall configuration, please comment back in here and i can help you further
hope this helps and if i have helped you please dont forget to rate.

I am unable to connect to the internet using a wireless connection (signal strength good) When I use the repair wizzard I get a message telling me unable to renew IO address

If the Wi-Fi access point is a DHCP enable router, you should be able to browse the internet as DNS address will be automatically fixed in the Router firmware.

to check what IP address is assigned and more information on your wireless adapter

go to Command prompt by typing "cmd" in RUN.

type "ipconfig /all" without the quote.

you should be able to see IP address of your wireless network adapter plus default gateway and DNS address which are much needed in order to have internet access.

you can still assigned IP address etc manually.

Go to "Control panel"
Click on "Network and Sharing Center"
Click on "Change Adapter setting"
Now, right click on the wireless adapter and select "Properties"
Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and "Properties"

In General tabs, select the radio button with " use the following IP address"

IP address : 192.168.1.x    (if the router IP address is 192.168.1.y)
                                        x=1 to 254, y=1 to 254 but x should not be                                           equal to y )
Subnet Mask :

Default gateway : 192.168.1.y ( IP address of the Wireless access point)

Preferred DNS address : Ask the Internet service provider

Alternate DNS address : Ask the Internet service provider

Click "OK" twice.

Your Internet should work now.

I have dowloaded all the drivers ann i still can't connect to the internet

Hi there,

This problem could be due to your DNS settings or your IP Address. First of all you will have to configure your router to accept the new computer. To do this you will need to go in to the router in your browser window and add your new device.

Then you will need to configure your router to either automatically assign an IP Address or use an allocated IP Address and use the same setting on your new computer. Also, you will need to configure your router to either assign a DNS Server automatically or to use an allocated DNS Server and once again you will need to use the same settings on your new computer.

Your IP Address is crucial in order for your new computer to connect properly to your network. Your DNS Server is crucial in order for your new computer to access the internet through your network.

Hpg6000 Vista 32 cannot access via browser

This problem usually occurs if DNS addresses are not set-up correctly.
DNS addresses are IP addresses of DNS servers which translates your queries to IP addresses. Like, when you enter in your browser, computer sends this to DNS server, then DNS server gives back information of the address of the site you're trying to visit. Since your computer does not know where DNS server is, it cannot display your web page. Some programs like Messenger and Skype work by quering exact addresses (since they are made to connect to single database on Internet), and that's the reason they are connected to Internet.

  1. Ask your Internet provider for DNS addresses.
  2. Open Start menu and then Control Panel.
  3. Open Network Connections.
  4. Right-click the connection you are using to connect to Internet, and click Properties.
  5. From the item list, choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click Use the following DNS server addresses.
  8. Enter given addresses.
  9. Click OK and then Close.
Your responses are intended to improve the level of service provided. Please rate your experience.
