Question about Homelite Curved Shaft Trimmer Bump Feed Replacement Line

1 Answer

Bumping doesn't seem to do anything. I have to shut off the gas motor, detach the spool, manually unwind 10-12 inches, then re-assemble. How can I get the bump feed to work? Maybe I need to review the manual... but don't have one. Is it on line?

Take the starter assembly off the mower. Unwind the spool using whatever method works (2 screwdrivers?) until you capture the remaining. cord. Pull it all the way out. Pin the spool so that it can't retract. Remove and replace the cord. Re-assemble. Back to cutting grass!

Why does the top thread break on my sewing machine?

There are several reasons.

1. The thread spool slit that you put the thread through to keep the spool from unwinding when it\'s not being used could be catching the thread as it unwinds. Check to be sure that the thread can be pulled from the spool without snagging.

2. One of the guides that the thread goes through may have a rough edge, or, more likely, is covered in thread lint and gunk, causing the thread to be pulled. It doesn\'t take much to snag thread. Use a q-tip and alochol, clean all of the threading points on the machine.

3. The tensioner is another possible hang up. Make sure that the tension is not too tight for the type of thread or fabric that you are using.

4. The needle may have a burr or rough spot on it. Replace the needle to see if the problem continues.

5. The bobbin case is the last place of concern. there may be a lot of thread lint, or the bobbin case is not seated properly. Sometimes, the thread hood under the bobbin case needs cleaning. Following the cleaning instructions in your manual, remove the bobbin case and thoroughly clean in there.

6. Finally, check in your manual to see if anything need oiling.

How to untangle window cable in 2000 buick lesabre passenger front door?

I have never done your year Buick, but if it is a metal cable I did help a friend with a BMW that had that system. I have a 1992 LeSabre service manual and it tells you to replace the assembly (typical GM solution)
I the cable is tangled, and kinked, it will fail again even if you get it back together. Again if it is like the BMW, there is a spool that the motor drives. the cable comes to that spool from two directions and each end winds in the opposite direction. So when one cable is wrapping on the spool, the other cable is unwinding, when you reverse directions, the cable does the same.
Hope this helps, have you done an internet search?

Black decker troubleshooting

ensure the spool is not ended if so replace with new spool of string. also check the retaining screw in the middle is not too tight. undo it one click at a time to alow the spool to unwind when the motor runs

always disconnect your strimmer from the power when doing this also wear protective footware and long trousers, when using such tools.

The line keeps unwinding! The Worx trimmer seems to unwind the line when ever it decides too! What is the problem?

Hi,

The spool can be defective, but it may be just affected by trash in the spool where it mounts to the machine. Look at this tip. There is a place at the end of it that explains how to clean and lubricate the spool. If you cannot fix the problem with this tip, replacement is probably your best option. Try it first.

My LS2125i will sew a straight stitch but when I turn it to a zigzag stitch it takes a couple of stitches, then all of a sudden the top thread on the spool holder goes... whirl and winds the thread around...

sounds like your thread is getting caught in the thread spool's thread keeper notch. Make sure you use the spool holder disk with the closest size to the spool of thread to help prevent that. This is pretty common with old fashioned spools like coats and clark spools.

My brother suggests that i make sure the spool unwinds in a certain direction. You might check your manual to be certain the thread is unwinding the correct way.

Good luck.

My pull start cord won't retract. How do I fix it

Remove the starter assembly from the engine and pull the cord out--it should have spring resistance to pulling. If nothing, the rewind spring may be broken, or it may have pulled loose from one of the attachment points. Remove the cord from the pull handle and unwind it from the spool if it isn't already pulled out. Remove the spool from the frame to expose the spring--check the ends for breakage and the attachment points for damage (one will be on the under side of the spool). Repair or replace any damaged components and assemble the spring into the attachments. Wind the spool/spring about 2-turns CW, then wedge it to prevent unwinding. Fit the cord back into the spool and wind it CW until the cord has about 8" or so to feed out through the cord port. Fit the cord end back into the handle, tie an overhand knot, and push the knot into the handle bore. Remove the spool wedge and try pulling the cord several times to make sure it goes out and back smoothly. Return the starter to the engine and attempt starting. Hope this helps!

Spare tire removal 2003 gmc sierra how to release secondary latch? owners manual is no help. cable comes down spare comes down about 3 inchs thats all

You must unwind (counter clockwise) with the tire tools that come with the truck, sometimes the cable gets jammed on the spool it may take 2 people to get it loose, one must pull down on the spare while the other unwinds it. Try not to get under the tire as it is heavy.

How do you remove the power window motor on a 2003 avalanche

AFTER REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL, REMOVE THE WINDOW REGULATOR. LOOK AT THE CABLES ON THE REGULATOR, THEY TEND TO SHRED AND BALL UP IN THE PULLEYS. IF THIS IS OK, REMOVE THE 3 BOLTS HOLDING THE MOTOR ONTO THE REGULATOR. HOLD THE MOTOR TIGHTLY AGAINST THE REGULATOR UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO REMOVE IT, THERE IS A SPOOL UNDER THE MOTOR THAT WILL UNWIND QUICKLY IF YOU JUST PULL ON THE MOTOR. YOU WILL BE REPLACING THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY AT THAT POINT. SO CAREFULLY SEPARATE THE MOTOR FROM THE SPOOL HOLDING DOWN ON THE SPOOL.
