With a philips screwdriver remove the 4 front control panel screws; (2 under each corner;) (you may need to remove the control panel plastic side covers first.)
they just snap off.
Remove the two screws holding the back panel to the yellow plastic clips
on the back of the control panel.
Slide the control panel to the front of the washer about 1 inch; releasing it from the top of the washer;
set the control panel aside.
You should now see two large gold-colored metal clips (make sure you know how they look in place) remove the clips by sliding the screwdriver under them and pulling up;
(be careful they can fly at you.)
tip body of the washer forward it will now come away from the tub frame.
You can now replace the lid switch; reverse these instructions to reassemble your washer.

Now you can replace the lid switch; reverse the instructions to reassemble.

Hello, My Kenmore, Model 110 92582110, stock#25821 will wash but it does not spin or drain. However, If I turn the timer and keep putting in spin mode, eventually it will spin and drain out the water....

By advancing the timer wheel to spin, you are able to get the machine to do what you require, however, the timer itself may need replacement if it does not proceed thru the cycles by itself..It sounds like your timer is 86.

the lid switch may be loose or broken it happens to me it was washing but never rinse i found out that it was a loose switch this switch prevents the rinse cycle from working with the lid open because of the high speed rinse ,some machines dont work at all, a loose switch makes the machine think the lid is open even if it is closed.good luck.

I bought a model 1183X yesterday at the goodwill and the paddle won't turn. control panel lights up and counts down but nothing is happening in the actual cooking area. Any suggestions?

Hi...It could be a few things. 1) take the bread pan out of the machine and go to a kneading cycle. Look at the motor shaft through the lid and see if it's spinning. If not then the belt is loose or has fallen off. 2) Keep the bread pan out of the machine and see if you can spin the paddle freely by hand. It should spin smoothly. If it sticks or does not move then it could be the sealed bearing that the paddle shaft fits into has failed and a new bread pan is needed. 3) Make sure the pan is inserted in the machine correctly. Good luck..Hank

Washer fills up agitates then when it should drain ,nothing.motor dosent come on to pump water out.

In most cases all brands will fill and agitate with the lid open, but will not drain or spin with the lid up.
It sounds to me like your lid switch is either bad or misaligned.
The first thing to check is the actuator plunger on the lid. Make sure it hasn't fallen or been broken off. Look for a piece hanging down from the lid that looks like a little finger that when the lid is closed, would hit and depress the lid switch ,which is under the top of the washer.
If it looks like the actuator is good shape then the lid switch is either bad or misaligned. Take a pencil or a bic pen and depress the lid switch. Making sure your washer is plugged in and in the spin mode. If it begins to rotate to spin and drain then see if a screw has fallen out that holds it in place or became loose not letting the actuator hit it correctly.
If the switch does not seem loose and it will not start the machine when depressed with a pencil it is probably time to change it out.

Kenmore Model 80 110-9258311 Spin balance issue

On the bottom of the basket there are springs. These springs keep the basket from slamming all over the place when in spin and agitating. Check that these springs haven't fallen off or come loose. I am guessing that this is all that happened. During moves this just happens sometimes and it's easy to fix. Hopefully you didn't loose any springs along the way, but if you did just call your local appliance repair shop and get some new ones. Kenmore parts are easy to come buy. If the springs look good check and see that they aren't real easy to expand. They should be real stiff. If they are easy to expand replace them. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck.

No spin or drain on Kenmore 25972

Unless this is different from any washer we have ever owned, the door switch doesn't prevent or permit the pump from working but only the spin.
Go to the Sears website and follow links to the parts section. Enter your complete model number and there should be a detailed parts illustration that would allow you to learn where it is located.

Washer spins after lifting lid several times

I would bet you have a lid switch starting to go bad. This is a common symptom. This is an inexpensive and simple repair job if you wish to pursue this on your own. If you open and close the lid, you should hear a distinctive "clicking" sound as the lid switch is activated when the lid closes. If you hear no sound, you need to check the following:

Some washers have the lid switch under the right-hand side of the wash tub opening and is activated through a small slot on the wash tub casing rim by a small plastic piece on the lid called a lid strike. If this is the type you have, make sure the lid strike is still intact or the switch will not activate. Check the two mounting screws next to the slot and make sure they are present and tight. These are the mounting screws that hold the lid switch in place. If they come loose it can prevent the switch from activating.

Newer models have the lid switch mounted under the washer casing in the left-hand rear adjacent to the left washer lid hinge. The switch is activated by a rod on the lid hinge. Sometimes a simple adjustment of this rod can correct contact problems.

If you make all these preliminary checks and the switch still does not work, replace it. The following link will give you step-by-step instructions on how to replace the switch:

Let me know if you require further assistance or part sources. I hope this helps you.
