Question about LG 47LE5400 47 in. TV

2 Answers

I have an LG47le5400 tv and a LG blu ray player bd570. While using the player with any kind of dvd I start to get picture drop out after 30 minutes play time. The screen goes blank for 1 to 2 seconds and then the video continues. This continues every 3-5 minutes until the dvd is over. The store has replaced the player and upgraded the software. I also replaced the HDMI cables with more expensives ones. When the LG570 player is used on a different tv all is well. (samsung 32 in) I tried using component cables between the LG player and LG tv and it then played without and drop outs. I would appreciate any info you might have on this problem that nobody can understand....Rich

I'm sorry, but this is not a solution--just a complaint that I have EXACTLY the same two components, a 47LE5400 and a BD570, and I have EXACTLY the same problem: video dropouts lasting a second or two. But I'm only getting this while watching 1080p output from the BD570. If I set the BD570 output to 1080i, the dropouts never happen. I've also just recently tried watching a blu-ray disc at 1080p 24Hz (instead of 60Hz), and not once during that movie did it blank out. But I haven't tried more than that.

The technician that LG has sent out is a total loser (tried to tell me that a component connection is digital), so I'm going to try again with LG directly.

Any solutions to this at all would be greatly appreciated... my warranty runs out in May and who knows what support I'll get after that.

I have the same problem! Viewing regular t.v. is fine, as is any VHS tape. But when playing DVD or Blu-Ray, I get dropouts. I've tried three different players and two different HDMI cables. So it must be the HDMI receiver within the actual LG t.v. Would love to know how to fix this without having to replace the television.

You'll need to plug in an external USB thumbdrive (or SD card if your unit accepts one) to watch this video.
Be sure to "initialize" the thumbdrive in the settings menu after you plug it in. Restart your movie and it should load properly after 10-15 seconds.

We have a LG Blue-Ray Player Model BD570. The Blue-Ray can see our home network, but refuses to accept the router password. I have a laptop on this router and use it with no problem.

Are you talking about the wireless security password that allows you to establish a wireless connection? Or, are you talking about the CIFS login and password that allows you to see shared folders on your computer.

If you can't establish a wireless connection, try changing the type of security you currently have set up on your router. For example, if you are using WPA, try switching to WEP and see if you can then connect the BD570 to the router. As a last option, you could try turning off all security (for a brief time, of course) and see if the BD570 will connect to your router.

If you are having the dreaded CIFS login and password problem (and you are using a Win7 computer), uninstall Windows Live Login-Assistant and Windows Live Essential 2011. Both programs interfere with the ability to use CIFS file sharing on the BD570.
