Remove the bottom kickplate and the hose at the bottom of the door goes underneath the refrig about 3 inches , to a hose connector . Push in on the end of the connector and pull out the hose . Close the freezer door and press water . If water comes sprays out from hose under frig , then your door is frozen internally .If no water sprays out of hose , then your watervalve is bad . One coil is for ice and the other is for water but they come togather as one.

Some have said that if you are fridge is still making ice, then your water line may be frozen. So you need to let it thaw out by leaving the freezer door open. Figure out somewhat to try and keep the cold air in by using plastic sheeting or something, until the line thaws. You can't dispense water with the door open, so reach up press the button that makes it think its closed and try to dispense the water..or just shut the door to test it out. I am going to try this when I get home today, because I am having the same problem on my GE model# GSH25JFTA BB.

your refrig's frzr temp is designed to be around 0 degrs. in order to give you a 35-40 degrs. temp in the freshfood side. you might not have a problem at all. check temp sensors and main brd in the rear.

Your machine should have a limit thermostat as well as the thermister. It may payto change it first before the motherboard.
It looks like this, mounted on the top of the coil.
If that fails, and the machine goes back to normal cooling until the next defrost cycle, I can think of nothing but the motherboard as the culprit.
