Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

I have a TX500, never been used (just out of the box) and had to get an electrician to my home for this problem. It will start rolling but quits in a few seconds. The electrician believes that it is a problem in the sensor that rides at the belt. There is only one sensor in the pulley; he thinks that perhaps there should be two as there is a hole placement opposite the one that is in there. When the belt quits, it goes to a number 3 on the board which he thinks is the sensor as well. If he is correct, where do we get another magnet to place there? If he is not correct, please offer help. We did not get a owners manual in the box and surely could use one; where can we get one? Please help...thankyou

My 1990 Ford F-150 suddenly quit running

Look under the dash, against the firewall. there is a little box. on the top of this box is a little button press the button for 10 seconds with the vehicle in the on position but not running position. That was the problem on my 1991 f-150, it is the first inertia switch. It is a safety shutoff incase the vehicle is in an accident or rolls, but a simple hit by the foot can trigger it.

1974 TX500, high idle, white smoke from breather tube

The idle problem is a lean fuel mix caused by an air leak in the intake system. Bad gaskets /seals on the intake manifold, bad valves, bad piston rings, loose spark plugs, and bad head gasket are all things that can lean the fuel/air mix. The smoke indicates a need for new rings. I would have the cylinders bored then install new pistons and rings. Now finish the top end work by getting a valve job. You should get a liquid fuel tank liner to eliminate any rust problems in the future. Also, install an in-line fuel filter. Google “ kreem fuel tank liner “ or go to www.http://www.4secondsflat.com/Fuel_Tank_Sealer.html

My complements on the well cleaned carbs. Do the work mentioned above an you will effectively have a new engine.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

74' TX500, High idle and White smoke from breather tube

When the carb was rebuilt it was only bench tuned. It is always wise to tune them once installed. the smoke may stop after the carbs are adjusted. However white or light colored smoke is always an indication of oil. It sounds like you may have a small leak. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You need to put in what we call a sub box. This should be done by a licensed electrician, but if you really want to do it yourself you will need a distribution box some wire and it has to be connected directly to your main lags from the meter box, this box will have a main breaker built into it and spaces for additional breakers, depending on your existing wiring the electrician might chose to wire the additional box directly to your meter base and not your existing box. Either way you really should seek local professional help on this project, just for your safety and to satisfy your home-owners insurance.

Have a great day..
