My problem is cd changer ejection. The changer has power, since it sounds like it is starting to eject. I can hear it. But no movement. Is there a way to manually eject the changer?

Hello

What you will do is to unplug the cord of your CD unit for 5 hours in order to drain the stored current, the purpose is to reset the unit. After the 5 hours plug the CD see to it if it open If not, just try to press down on the stop button and pressing eject button at same time and it will unlock the tray .

Then the other option is to open the cover of the CD unit and unplug the unit again to avoid electric shock . When open already look for the disc platter moved it outward while driving the gear or simply push out. The drawer or door of the CD player and you will see a small circular disc which is often called turntable or disc platter. When the disc platter is out push it back and push it out you do this three times so the slider mechanism align it properly. If you do already what i said then plug it again and if works already closed the cover. The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and the manufacturer, consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all.

Also, if the belt breaks in the middle of the disc, the drive mechanism gets hair or dirt wrapped up into the gears, or the pick-up assembly doesn?t return to the start position (called home), the unit will (99% of the time) refuse to release the disc, causing it to become stuck inside the unit. There?s a little micro or leaf type switch located at home position that sometimes gets dirty or breaks and, causing this problem also.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Hi Wbecraf1,

You can try any of the following:

  • Force-eject. If the CD player in your car having a “force-eject” hole, things can be very simple. Get a pin or a small nail, poke into the force-eject hole and push it all the way in until the CD is forced out.
  • Disconnect the CD player for about 10 minutes. Find out the fuse that control the CD player, unplug or pull out the fuse without turn on the ignition of the car. Leave it for roughly 10 minutes. If you are not familiar with the fuse box controller, you can simply unplug the negative battery cable, same method to leave it for 10 minutes and connect it back. This is not a 100% way but overall it works well for most of the CD player in car
  • Eject multiple disks CD player. This is for certain CD player that able to place multiple CDs. For some brands, the changer will cycle and eject any stuck CD by pressing the eject button and load button at the same time.
Let me know how this works for you,

Al

Hello

OK, if you can hear a sound when you press the eject button, it means that the eject mechanism is functioning properly. The problem is that on of the cd's is probably stuck between the magazine and the drive system.

HERE is a couple of things you can try to resolve the problem.

lease do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards
Andrea

Hi The Clarion 6 Disc CD Changer is a vehicle-based CD playerthe 6cd changer will not - mag-glass_10x10.gif that houses up to six CDs at a time. The device is typically placed in the trunk of the vehicle or by the driver's feet. If you are experiencing playback issues with the Clarion CD Changer, you need to perform a few different troubleshooting steps to correct the problem.

  • Inspect the wires running into the back of the Clarion CD Changer. If the wires are not inserted completely the audio signal is not sent out to the in-dash stereo player.
  • Step 2.Open the front panel of the CD changer and look over the CDs. Make sure the CDs are inserted with the label facing up. You also want to check the bottom of the discs. If they are dirty the CD changer is going to skip. Wipe off the CDs with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust stuck to the bottom.
  • Step 3.Spray a few shots of compressed air into the CD changer. Aim the spray towards the reading lens in the player. If the lens is dirty all of your CDs are going to skip.

    • Position the Clarion changer on a flat surface. If the changer is propped up against the side of the trunk it is more likely to skip being at an odd angle.

    • Step 5Inspect the fuse that controls the CD changer. If the fuse is damaged the player is not receiving electrical power (look in your user manual for the exact fuse location). Change out the fuse to return power to the CD changer.

you have not addressed my specific question, which is: My changed does not come out when I press the eject button. I hear the beginning of action but no movement occurs. Therefore there is power but it seems the changer may be stuck and, if there is a manual ejection approach I could use it. I don't know if such exists.

That mean the disk drive is bad and need to be replace

  • wbecraf1 Aug 03, 2010

No!!!!! I said the 6cd changer will not eject so I can put in 6 new cds. It has power. I hear it sounding as though it is starting to eject.

My 04 yukon cd changer won't eject the cd. any advise?

if you push the eject cd magazine button on the changer does it sound like it's trying to eject it? if it doesn't you'll need to replace the changer. if it does, then you've got a stuck cd magazine tray. it sounds weird, but when i was working on land rovers this happened all the time on the full size range rovers. what we did was push the magazine eject button on the changer to eject the cd magazine and sort of slap the changer around a bit. 90% of the time it worked. the other times, we'd go in with a 90 degree pick and try to push the stuck cd tray back into the magazine (while it was still in the changer) while pushing the eject magazine button on the changer. and you'll need to replace the cd magazine. if it happens again, you'll need to replace the entire changer.

One thing about Volvo CD player/changers...they tend to not like burned CDs and even more, burned CDs with labels on them.

I'd suggest against trying to get it out yourself.

You can get it replaced and the dealership should have a form so you can get your CDs sent back.
