Hi,
It could either be the filter (most likely), the drain pump (likely) or the drain hose/tube (least likely).
Normally,
there would a filter somewhere at the bottom of your dishwasher with
the primary function of keeping large
particles of food and foreign objects away from the impeller/pump. Most
current dishwashers have self-cleaning filters and therefore regular
cleaning is no longer a concern. However, some other dishwashers need
to have
the filter manually removed and cleaned regularly or as even in your
case. If the filter or grate is
clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal
functioning of your dishwasher and may cause the problem as you have
described.
To check the filter and/or the drain pump, the bottom has to be exposed, the filter/pump located and cleaned.
There
are pages online with illustrative description and detailed procedures
on how to go about this. Perhaps you can try referencing
here and/or
here.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
