Surge outage tv not coming on

Quite possibly just blew TV fuse, but may have more damage, usually to the power supply circuit.
Unplug TV & remove back & do a visual inspection of all PCBs & wiring. your looking for physical damage, traces of arcing, parts blown apart or damaged/discolored.

Sylvania LC320SLX 32 in. LCD TV wont turn on

There is short circuited component/s at its main power supply regulator board. Check and replace them. It is best to replace the circuit board as card bassis, rather than trying to repair it.

Srm350 active-2 internal fuses on pcb-one had blown replaced it turned power on but it blew again-any ideas-it was working o.k. then blue light went off-still power to speaker

Either a short in the power supply such as diode(s), capacitor, or transistor(s) or in the power amp. It will require service. Replacing the fuse before repair will likely damage more components... don't do it!

Unit won't turn on !

Hi,
This could be due to several things, the main ones being:

1) One of the screens is either not correctly connected or has devlouped a fault... If one of the screens flickers after you switch it on and just before the green light goes out then the screen that doesn't flicker is causing the problem, firstly try reconnecting it and if that doesn't work you will have to replace it, both screens are avaliable for a reasonable fee on ebay, search for either "DS lite top screen" or DS lite bottom screen".

2) Locate the inductor labled "L2" if this is missing then you will need to either solder it back on if you can find it or else you can buy another one again on ebay for a reasonable fee, search for "DS lite L2".

3) If both the above fail then chances are you have blown a fuse, if you can charge the DS then it is not your "F1" fuse in which case you will only need to replace the "F2" fuse, firstly desolder the old fuse and then solder on the replacement fuse, this should solve the issue. If however the charging light stays on for a very brief time (i.e 1-2secs) then you will have to replace the "F1" fuse, locate the "F1" fuse and follow the sames steps stated for the "F2" fuse. These fuses are also found on ebay, search for "ds lite fuse" and buy the quantity you require.

If you don't have access to soldering equipment or are unable to solder these very small parts (i.e fuse dimensions - 1.5 mm x 0.8 mm and the "L2" inductor dimensions - 2.5mm x 1.8mm x 1.8mm) The is a product called wire glue which is avaliable from ebay (located in the USA) which is fantastic as it is a glue with conductive properties.

You may find guides that tell you to "bridge" the fuses and "L2" inductor but I would strongly advise against this, afterall they are there for a reason and just think what damage would have happend if that fuse hadn't have blown.

Here is an image for the location of the fuses, also if you look just under the power switch you will see the "L2" inductor:

I hope this helps and have to say that I accept no responsability for any damage that may occur to your DS lite when following these tips.

Nintendo ds lite fallen into water, can you tell me what I should do? There is no life in it at all.

Hi,

There are so many possibilities for the DS lite not turning on due to the warter causing unpredictable damage.

If its under warranty id suggest sending it off, if not you can take it to a repair shop or you can attempt to fix it yourself, tho I wouldnt get your hope up too high because as i said the damage is so unpredictable.

First make sure its thoroughly dry throughout, ideally dismantle it as much as possible and leave it all in a warm dry place for a few days.

Once dry put it back together and plug it in... if the orange light come on thats a very good sign. If it flashes on and off again its still a good sign. It basically means you have blown a fuse. If it doesnt do anything you may still be lucky enough to have just blown the fuses.

Take it apart again and temporarily bridge the fuses "F1" and "F2" (dont worry if ive lost you there, you can find my guides on how to do everything I mention by clicking on my name) If the bridging works then get yourself 2 replacement fuses (ebay sell them) and replace the blown fuses. Job done!

If you find that when the fuses are bridged the green light breifly turns on (i.e. 1-2secs) see if either of the screens flash if one of them does then you will need to replace the one that doesn't (also avaliable on ebay).

That should be enough to get going with for now, if you have any problems or find that none of the above changes anything get back to me and I will see if i can help you any further.

Hope it helps.

DS Lite will not power on

blowin F1 or F2 fuse or both inside your nds. can be fixed by runnung a bead of solder the blown fuse so it bridges the fuse (idealy you would replace fuse but its very tricky) first of all if you have a multi meter check the fuses before soldering them. anyway i advise not to use the homebrew card especially on your nds when you bridge the fuses as once the fuses have been bridged there is no saftey shut off to stop more sever damage. oh by the way just youtube F1 and F2 fuse location to find out where they are. oh and use a 15watt solder iron to be on safe side (less chance of overheating any components near fuses when soldering). its not that hard to do really (i did 2 of them with a gas solder iron due to me not having a 15watt iron) also replaced cracked screens. my next job to do is replace a L2 inductor on a friends nds (symptom for this fault is nds charges but will not power up, not even a blink of green light) for anyone who has this symptom its the L2 inductor thats broken away

Blown accessory fuse? jenn air cooktop jed8430adb

the unit doesnt have any internal fuses. you have a house fuse blown or circuit breaker that tripped. the fan switch can be found online or from your local parts house and make sure you get the clips to hold it to the mounting tabs.
next time you get ready to work on it, just make sure and turn off the power first as you will touch the metal terminals to the frame again.
