Try clicking the auto adjust button on the screen. If this doesn't work it may be in demo mode, so click the fENGINEbutton on the monitor and make sure it is selected on the normal setting.

Does this monitor have an OSD (On Screen Display),
and a button to activate the OSD?
Does the OSD have the capability to adjust the brightness?

Ahh the same thing has happened to my monitor! Mine unfortunately is 1 month over warranty. Apparently this is a common problem with this model!

Use one or all of these to make adjustments:
1: Use light view hot key. Use the 'night' setting.
2: In the on screen menu, select 'picture', select 'brightness', lower brightness.
3: In the Display software (on your computer) for your video card, turn down the brightness.
4: In 'color', set each RGB setting down the same amount
