The problem is the door latch have a look and see if the door pin (plastic) still has both prongs they should look the same from side to side if they are then the tension wires in the doors clamp have come apart. if one side of the door pin has snapped off (most common problem from slamming door closed) replace the door pin

hope this helps

My boy put his weight on the dryer door while taking clothes out of it. Now it won't stay closed, it keeps popping open. The whirlpool dryer is 6 months old, It's not the latch.

Place dryer on the floor
put car jack under the opened dryer door and gentle lift the door in the opposite direction with the child sitting on the dryer when placed on the floor. Experiment - A little bit at a time test door until latch works again.
Be careful not to damage the door with too much jacking / lifting.
May want to place a piece of timber between top of jack and door to minimize damaging the door.

Whirpool dryer model wed9400swo the dryer door pops open

This usually occurs when the load is too large, causing the cloths to push the door open. If this is not the case, you should replace the door latch mechanism, which is what keeps the door closed.

My duet dryer's door will pop while drying and then the door is not shut tightly. The door never completely opens just not shut tight and the light comes on in it. When this happens the dryer quits, and...

We had the same problem and surprised how rampant the issue was after referring to the internet reviews / troubleshooting, etc. The problem started after about 6 months and the solution came to me after much "headaching" over the problem. There were no 'codes' coming up just the door popping open during the cycle. I purchased a (2) twenty pack of 1/2" diamerter x 1/16" thick N42 Neo Earth Magnets and placed them along the top edge and bottom edge of the dryer opening. Instant fix in less than a minute. The thickness does not interfere with the door opening and the strength of the magnets is obvious. Hope this helps. Fix was less than $10 bucks and no service man, etc.

The dryer door always pops open stopping the dryer... how do I make it stay shut so the clothes will get dry without having to close the door every other minute?

Try putting less of a load in dryer. The weight of the clothes riding against the door, may be the reason why it pops open.

Dryer door won't stay shut when drying clothes

There is a clip inside your dryer door that acts as snap (kinda like on baby clothes). It snaps the door closed - so to speak. If the outer part of that 'snap' gets a little stretched out it will not hold as tightly. When those heavy, wet clothes hit against the door it pops it open because the 'snap' is not working right. As long as the outer part of the 'snap' is still intact, you can fix this problem by simply squeezing it together alittle to make it grab tighter so that the door stays closed while drying your clothes. If that doesn't make it tight enough you could tear off a small corner of a paper towel to fill in the hole a little to make it tighter.

Hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!

During the drying cycle, the dryer door opens

Chances are the little plastic latch keep is broken. Look at the door and locate a peice that will press into the front area where the clothes go in.
Once you see it, check the keeper and see if it is broken. The door should not just pop open.

Whirlpool gold door falls open during cycle

You can probably get away with getting just hinges for the door if it is not bent also check the latch if it doesn't look broken the just go for the hinges.
