    Here's redlegs1 solution:

-Turn off both computer and monitor
-unplug monitor from computer(still plugged into power supply)
-turn on computer and monitor(monitor is still unplugged)
-After computer is on for about 30 sec. plug monitor into computer
-turn off both monitor and computer(now connected together)
-turn on monitor then computer and should be good to go!!!

In my pc im getting a problem of power on safe mode

  • teachernson Jul 24, 2008

I have an LG flat-panel monitor connected to an HP Pailion Desktop. Both are fairly new, only about 3 years old. Last night, while I was checking my email, the screen just froze and would NOT respond to the mouse nor keyboard. Even when I tried "CTRL + ALT + DELETE," nothing happened, so I was forced to improperly shut down my computer. When I pushed the power button to turn my pc back on, a "Power Saving Mode" window appeared on my screen, and I've been stuck on that all day.

I tried the suggested solution 3 times, but to no avail. Could it possiby be my keyboard? After I attempted to reboot, I noticed that there were NO lights on my keyboard. I checked that all cables were properly connected, and I even turned off my power strip altogether at one point, just to give everything a fresh start. Nothing seems to work. Please help! Thanks!

Hi - our dell dimension c521 is stuck in power save mode. The light on the monitor is solid orange and will not respond to the keyboard or mouse

A solid amber light indicates a pre-POST failure has occurred. The system has received a Power Good signal from the power supply so it's not a power supply issue. HERE is the documentation that tells what the lights mean and possible solutions.

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
  1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
  2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
  3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
  4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."

How do i getr the creen out of analog power save

Usually hitting a button on the keyboard or moving the mouse works.

If it is really a problem go into your display settings through the control panel, access the power options and stop your monitor from going into powersave mode.

Sleep mode on a dell monitor

Hold down the function key on your keyboard (lower left hand side of your keyboard between the control key and the windows key) and the F8 key simultaneously. This cycles through all monitor set up modes.

In power save mode

The monitor is not receiving signal from the computer. Is the power light on on the computer? If so - press and hold power button on computer until the power light goes off, then press again to restart. If the computer starts and you still have no picture it is most likely a video card or motherboard problem.
