Your monitor's backlight inverter has failed, a common problem on LCDs. It is relatively easy to replace and should cost you around 30$ for the part. I can find it for you provided you can open the back cover and locate a small board that has connector to the power supply at a point marked "inv" or something like that. Get me the part number of the inverter and I will find it for you.

You will need to find someone with soldering experience as it most likely needs some capacitors changed. Just contact any local tv repair or electronics repair shop and give them the information from that link and they should have no problem replacing it.
Thank you and good luck,
Lee

You replace the capacitors at the link that is on fixya that you already have. It is pretty self explanatory. If you don't have the soldering experience I would not recommend it. It is a fairly easy fix for someone with electronic expertise.
    Thank you,
    Lee

No, I do not have soddering experience. I thought this would be something I could fix myself, apprarently not.

Then I would not attempt it call around some electronics places and you should be able to have the repair made with the information you have for relatively cheap. Please take a moment to accept/rate my solution.
    Thanks again,
    Lee

I appreciate your advise, but basically you are telling me that I can't fix it. I posted this so that I could save money by fixing it myself. Since I can't do that, the original advise from the original post I referenced was the best advise over all.

Right that is all the information you need to make the repair if you have the ability to make it. being that you can't solder there is no further that you can go. Has nothing to do with the information I provided. I can tell you how to do it but if you can't do it then it is futile. If you open up the monitor and examine the capacitors you should find some bulged and those need to be replaced. I don't know what solution you were expecting but we can't fix it for you. I hope you will reconsider and rate my solution accordingly.
    Thanks,
    Lee

You may have damage the connection between the T-CON board and the LCD panel.
I would try reseating the ribbon cable between the T-CON board and the logic board, if that does not fix the problem, you will need new LCD panel.

It is acting like it is not getting the video signal from the PC, unless there are problem inside the monitor, you should try it with another PC. All the cables are good?

Red, or green, blue cast? Check all the pins of the VGA cable first, and also try it with another PC to make sure it is not video card problem.

You can easily tell by look at the on screen menu, and look for the Volume control buttons and a mini-stereo AUDIO line jack (Green color) in the back.

I have connected my microtek lcd monitor to my dell laptop computer. the monitor is plugged into electric outlet. the green light on the front of the monitor blinks. and i get a report of "no signal" but...

Have you tried pluging in the monitor in to the laptop before even starting the computer or Putting the computer in to "Stand by" then pluging in the monitor and then bringing the laptop out of "Stand by" or yet when you do have the computer on with the monitor pluged in, try "Fn" and a button hat has like two screens on it with a small bar in between them? All these should work.

The inverter is the most common item to fail on a LCd monitor. Capacitors usally fail the most. Are the tops of any of them popped up. If you had any shorted transistors the fuse would probably be blown. Usally labeled F1. I would replace all the capacitors first and go from there. Capacitors are cheap.
