Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have an Epson TX100 and accidentally dropped a tiny piece of plastic inside the space for inserting paper. I was managed to dismantle the printer by screwing all the nails and take out the plastic piece. However, I could not switch on my printer after that though I made sure that all the plugs are connected. I suspect that while dismantling the printer, I might have caused some damage. As such it cannot be turned on.

All you can do is strip it down again and check all the cables.

Epson dfx9000 it gives me paper jam

Hi there,
My epson printer showed a paper jam light although no paper was visible.
I discovered my son had had a paper jammed and ripped the paper out and a tiny piece was jammed inside but was not visible easily.
***NO RESPONSIBILITY ACCEPTED FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE IF YOU USE THIS SOLUTION I USED TO FIX MY PRINTER*********
i cut an A4 sized square of cardboard from a cereal packet.
I inserted this instead of paper and attempted to use the feed paper button to eject the paper jam.
This did not initially work so as i kept pressing the paper feed button i forced the cardboard into the printer in the same direction that the paper feeds whilst printing.
The cardboard pushed the tiny piece of paper out.
Turn off the printer and then turn back on - you should find the printer now works.
I also found it helpful to clean the feed path and to try and keep dust from settling in the printer.
If it is in a dusty environment it helps to keep the printer covered when not in use - you can buy plastic covers for this or any large plastic will do but does not look as aesthetically pleasing.
Hope this has helped.

My granddaughter put a toy in printer & a part broke off - thin, translucent piece about 1/4 inch wide by 7 inches long. How do I open up the printer in order to try to put this part back?

Hello,
The plastic piece you are talking about it just prevents the paper from bending forward when is inserted in the printer. That plastic piece should not cause any paper jams or printing problems. If you do happen to have paper jams maybe a piece of plastic fell inside where the paper goes. Simply turn off the printer, remove the paper and flip the printer upside down and shake it a little that should remove any debris inside the printer.

You have to reset your printer. Go to this link to download the program.

NOTE: you have to replace the waste ink pad inside your printer to prevent flooding of waste ink.

There is a tiny piece of paper stuck inside that we can see but can't manage to get out. How do we take the printer apart to get the paper out without damaging the printer?

Instead of taking it apart, try to get a stiff piece of paper or a thin cardboard to force into the paper path to push the stuck paper out.

Epson stylus c68 paper jam

Hi Guest.

Turn your printer off and load a single sheet of paper. Move the rubber wheel to anywhere. Turn the printer on and watch what happens in the paper feed slot (in official Epson parlance this is the "automatic sheet feeder" or ASF). You should see the rubber wheel etc set into the correct start postion. Then press the paper feed button and watch again. The plastic "wall" behind the piece of paper should move forward, pushing the sheet into the rotating rubber wheel. This should feed the paper into the "ready to print position". If this doesn't happen, it means something has come adrift inside the paper feed system. To investigate this further requires the printer to be dismantled. Either take it to a technician, or if you want to have a go at doing this yourself, post a new comment to this effect and I will help you do this.

Yes it can probably be fixed. I hope you poked your friend in the eye for giving you such a headache though. You will need to dismantle the machine and remove the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) Once removed, check there is no bits of paper stuck inside. Then turn the pick up mechanisme by hand through a couple of revolutions to re synch everything. Also check the paper sensor is still intact - if not you can construct a new one from a piece of plastic or if the old one is still present, just glue it back together. You can download a service manual to hep you out with the dismantling from either: http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com http://mikeburton.tradebit.com/
