Hello,

Hello,

If your ice maker is not producing any ice at all, it could be due to various reasons. Firstly, check the right side of ice maker for a wire. The wire will be in an erected position, if the machine is turned off. In such a case, lower the plastic lever present in there or the wire directly if there is no plastic lever. This should be enough for your ice maker to start functioning once again.

There could also be a case of blockage in the ice maker fill tube. If this is the situation, use a hair dryer to melt any ice stuck in there which is causing the blockage. Replace the tubes if necessary. Check the ice maker assembly for any cracked up or broken parts. Especially check the gears and plastic arms along the ice rake, as these are more likely to break down compared to other parts. Replace them if needed.

Take care.

Hi there,

Well first of all you may check out the Supply Valve - The water supply line connects to a supply valve usually found under the kitchen sink or behind the freezer. If the valve is not turned to a position which allows for enough pressure, the water may not fill the ice mold. Then you can check the Supply Line - The supply line runs from the water source, often under the kitchen sink, to the water inlet valve behind the freezer. Another line runs from the inlet valve to the ice maker. If the supply is pinched or damaged, it may reduce or restrict water flow to the ice maker resulting in small cubes or no ice at all.
Further you may check the Inlet Switch and Water Inlet Valve. Please post comments for further help or information........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Ice maker not dumping ice

It could be the harvest thermostat or the mold heater is bad on the icemaker. It is usually better to just replace the icemaker. Installing a harvest thermostat is a but tricky and the mold tray is 3/4 of the icemaker anyway..

I have a GE Profile fridge PSS25MGNAWW with an ice maker that is not working properly. The ice maker doesnt fill with water. If I turn the ice maker off then back on it will squirt water in for about...

HI this is just a test the icemaker runs when you first turn it on, its not suppose to fill up the tray, it will fill it when the icemaker reaches the correct temperature, if its not cold enough in the freezer it wont kick on, if its been sitting for several hours and still wont fill or make ice, you need a new icemaker. The new icemaker part # is WR30X10093

I set the ice maker feature to make cubes with my samsung refrigerator rs2555sw. But the ice maker makes a ice chunk. All the cubes are frozen together with a flat and thick layer of ice on top..

Hi and welcome to Fixya.

Remove the front cover after the ice tray has dumped cubes and remove all of the water from your ice maker tray.

Then depress the test button on the bottom of the icemaker (in front on bottom) located about 1 inch from the lower rh corner.

The icemaker fill cycle should add just enough water to cover barely cover the tray. (see page 32 of the 25 Sept 2005 user's manual)

If it is overfilling the icemaker fill time / water level needs to be reduced on the ice maker module. A normal fill cycle is about 7.5 seconds.

Another thing that will cause larger cubes is high water supply (utility co) pressure.

A temporary fix would be to slowly close the refridgerator water supply line's shut off vavle so that the water flow restricts.

The real solution is to investigate ice maker fill time, and the function of the icemaker water supply solenoid vavle for possible Delayed closing of the internal diaphram.

Ice maker not producing ice. Tried everything in the Troubleshooting section of Users Manual. Replaced water filter. The front water dispenser is working.

the most likely thing would be a bad water valve.try to reset the ice maker and watch to see if the tray fills up the fill tube could also be blocked with frozen water.the last thing is simply a bad ice maker.

My icemaker is not working. Water not filling tray

Probably the valve that feeds water to the ice maker leaks and this water freezes up at the filling tube to the ice maker and the water doesn't go through, but if the filling tube is not frozen and the ice maker doesn't call for water the problem is in the ice maker inside board ,if so you should replace the ice maker.

Kenmore refer #70162990 ice maker leaking into storage tray

Please confirm you have given the complete model number.

If the icemaker has a bail wire to control how much ice is in the bin, there is a fill switch inside the front cover of the ice maker which allows you to increase or decrease the amount of fill.

You may also have a cracked or corroded ice mold. Check by filling the icemaker with water manually, and watching to see if it drips once the initial overfill stops dripping. This would also be indicated by the ice cubes being smaller than usual.

Sub-Zero 632 Ice Maker Leaking into Ice Bucket

Ice Maker is overflowing and leaking into the ice bucket: There are several things to check for.
Go for the easy stuff first, make sure the icemaker is level, some of the plastic liner fridge's will move and allow the icemaker to tilt over and leak. Other troublemakers..... the fill valve
staying on and over filling the icemaker..... the finish sometimes comes off the icemaker body and all the ice cubes don't come out. This will allow the new water to fill on top of an icemaker
that still has a ice cube or two left inside the body, if you have had trouble with black specs in your ice cubes, this may have been the beginning of your finish problem on the icemaker body.
On the module style ice makers (Whirlpool, Maytag Family, Sub Zero) the printed circuit in the
module head often wears and the contacts become too long and allow the icemaker to over fill = new ice maker or new module head.
waterfilladjustment.jpg
Older style icemakers: This gear is bad for breaking and the icemaker quits turning to eject the ice.
You can remove the front cover to see the gear.
This is a common parts breakdown of the older style icemakers

Water fill volume: The water fill adjustment screw will change the fill volumes by changing the fill time.
One half to one full turn usually ( approx ) is equal to 20cc ( 0.68oz ) to 40 cc.
The correct fill is usually 130 to 150 cc ( 4.5 to 5.0 oz ).
When a water valve is replaced the fill volumes must be re-checked!

2003 whirlpool ice maker doesn't work

May be an issue with the cam that operates the ice maker. U can pick up a new ice maker for about 40 bucks on ebay.

Lots of things could be bogus. If the solenoid does not open, no water in tray - no ice. If tray does not get warm for fingers, fingers cannot push ice out - no ice. If freezer is not at least 10 degrees, no ice making at all. If cam motor for maker is bogus, anything could be out of whack.

Make sure that the ice maker is in "on" mode.

Water overran ice maker tray

It could be one of two things. The fill cycle could be too long causing the water to overflow or the icemaker may not be ejecting all the cubes out of the tray. A normal fill cycle is very short. Maybe 6 seconds long. So I would check and see how long the fill cycle is and when it stops check and see how much the tray is filled with water. I would also check and make sure that all the ice cubes are ejecting next time you hear it harvest.
