Help !!!!my laptop shuts down

Hi my laptop packard bell easynote R4650 after about 20 minutes of use dies completely as if power has been removed ,It is worse when using alot of processsing power ie slide show of photos .Without really pushing the processor it will go for a couple of hours but eventually shut down. The fans are working and you can feel normal warm air it does not feel hot or overheated. you can restart straight away and it will work for a further 10 minutes and same again.progressivley getting quicker and quicker to shut down unitl you are unable to get past the normal windows boot up process through to desktop. A week before it started to do this the battery would show 100% charged but only give me 5 minutes of usage, but it still worked fine on mains. The battery does not charge at all now, not sure if this is related or unfortunate consequence. I have removed the battery pack just in case the battery itself was upsetting the laptop but run on mains it still just dies. There is no warning but is like i mentioned it is normally when you hear the fan slightly increase in level increaed processor use and boff it goes. I would like to order a spare part as my boyfriend would attempt a fix if somebody has the answer. help please cheers Louise

We had some Acers do the exact same thing and we fixed them. I believe it shuts right off as a safety. Usually when the processor gets too hot it powers right off to save the laptop from burning up. First quick fix it to blow out the vents and especially blow out the heat sink vent. Also could be that the heat paste that sits between the CPU and Heat Sink could have dried up and stopped doing it's job to remove heat efficiently from the CPU. Big problem in earlier model Gateway laptops too. This can be fixed by acquiring some paste from a local tech shop and reapplying it. If you feel unsure about it, take it to a tech shop and they can do it quick for cheap if not for free. Keep me posted - Scotty

How i unlock my keyboard. lts packard bell easynote TE11 BZ

Hello

Does the whole keyboard not work or only some keys?
Try the following shut down the computer , disconnect the power cable and remove the battery from underneath then press power button for about 20 seconds then reconnect the battery and the mains power and switch on the laptop again.
Did you spill any liquid on the keyboard?

"Consider replacing your battery"

Modern batteries do talk to the laptops and provide information on health. Ordinarily, this message would mean that your battery is on its way out. If however, it holds its charge then fine, but at some stage you may find that you only get a few minutes use even on a full charge and you will need to find a replacement.

How do I know if my packard bell easynote R4250 is dead?

If the laptop is more than two years old. Time to replace the battery. The power meter is not a reliable way of seeing a bad battery. If just one of the cells in the battery is bad it will not run your laptop , and the meter still would show 100%

Lost password for my packard bell easynote

Only way to remove a BIOS password on any computer is to remove all power sources from the motherboard so its memory can be cleared.

First, remove the main battery from the laptop. Then you must locate and find the little coin cell battery (It looks like a watch battery) on the laptop and remove it for about a minute or so. Then you can replace them in the opposite order.

Unfortunately, some laptop coin cell batteries are difficult to locate, or require an in depth dissection of the laptop to get to them. Without the model of the laptop, I cannot tell you how to get to it.

Power source

Most laptop batteries die - that is, fail to hold a charge, after a few years use, and have to be replaced. That is the probably the reason for your problem.

This is hard you have to take the laptop apart to get to the ram. but you have to remove the screen to get to the case screws.
