EL9300 not responding after a battery change. Only a down arrow is displayed on screen on top of screen

Just had this EXACT problem on a Sharp EL-9200C. I got the down arrow to go away and then the calculator functioned like normal. Here's how: I got a ball point pen and rapidly activated the reset button on the back, then rapidly pressing the CL key... probably about 45-50 times, but eventually it cleared all the memory out and the calc was able to boot up. This was after replacing the batteries multiple times and trying every key and every 2ndF key. I feel like the master of the universe now!

If the display is still legible you might be able to continue using your calculator. If not, you may consider getting another calculator, Just a suggestion,

There is a RESET button to the left side of the "A" key. Press the reset button twice using any item that does not have a breakable tip. This will reset the item and clear all memory back to factory settings. Then you will be able to go back in and set it to the parameters that you need. Hope this helps.
