Install the driver and software and then use it. Then again, are you using Vista 64? But that doesn't matter either. It's supported. Best recommendation is to download the most current driver and Toolbox from www.canontechsupport.com.

If you are having issues with Vista, please give specifics.

Does s200 scanner work with windows vista?

You may have to run this device in Window 98 mode
It may or may not work depending on the driver set and is it compatible with the Windows OS.

UMAX ASTRA 4100/4600 DRIVER FOR VISTA / WINDOWS 7

Hi,

I don't know about Windows 7, but I'm using my Astra 4600 on Windows Vista.

Umax said on its website that the Astra series of scanners are not supported for Windows Vista/7. I suppose this is to get us to buy new scanners...

I searched all around the internet for my driver, but couldn't get one. Finally I tried one more time using the CD that came with my scanner. Of course it doesn't work if you run Setup.exe from the CD --- it will just tell you that the OS is not supported. So I went to Device Manager and deleted the scanner under the "unknown USB device" section, and unplugged the scanner.

When I replugged the scanner, I let Vista install the driver automatically. Of course it couldn't, as Microsoft doesn't support it either. Then the install wizard asked me to put in the CD that came with the scanner. And that did the job! Vista was able to ignore the fact that the driver wasn't written specifically for Vista, and the scanner is working!

I hope you have the same luck with yours.

Happy new year.

Microtek Scanmaker 4800 does not work on Vista no drivers all xp. How can you get scanner working?

I really you cannot use this Scanner for Vista, only before Vista came out there's no Driver Freeware available yet or the Microtek didn't not provide the driver freeware for this.
I suggest you to install it with Windows XP, it's better on Windows XP and don't need to install in Windows Vista, it's no use on it.
Or also you just buy a new one ready for Windows Vista scanner.
Provided that the Microtek didn't yet give a driver for this then install it where it is compatible with.

Good luck!

Scanner doesn't work with Windows Vista

Unfortunately this scanner is at end of life and I do not think you will find any drivers for Vista.

I cant find a driver for my canoscanFB630U for Vista any Ideas?

Canoscan FB630U - No need to buy 'VueScan' - that does work but $70 is a long way towards a new scanner.

I've had no problems using the XP canon driver (v. 5.3.2.0) under vista (just download, decompress then 'Update driver' in the device manager and point it to the decompressed files).

This is a TWAIN driver not the newer WIA type driver which means that the scanner will not appear in Windows Fax and Scan or in the the Scanners and Cameras group of control panel. Photoshop / Paintshop pro etc are perfectly happy to use TWAIN scanners, however!

Hope that helps someone!
