Wine Chiller does not operate.
1. Not plugged in.
2. The appliance is turned off.
3. The circuit breaker tripped or a blown fu se.

If the character E1 appears on the digital display call service assistance.

Hi this means the compressor has over heated its best to switch of at mains for about an hour then switch back on and hopefully youll have no more problems if you do then the compressor could need replacing

Also check their is nothing causing it to overheat like anything dropped on compressor or near a heat source this should not be by any heat source as this will cause it to overheat.
Switch off for an hour let it cool down then switch back on and just keep an eye on it you should find it will be ok but let me know if it gives same message.
If the message comes on strait away after being off for an hour then their is a serious fault and the compressor needs replacing ok get back to me after this

@ginko thanks for providing the info as i couldnt find the numbers anywhere so thanks for providing them and also the parts.

ginko you know the compressor well their is a small black plastic box that the leads go into then out of into the compressor, ginko do you know what im talking about, if you do then i can tell pires something to try but i thought i'd ask u 1st as i'm not 100% sure.

Pires ignore my comment to ginko unles i instruct u otherwise as it's not safe 4 the general DIYer to mess with unless i give the go ahead ok.

E1 in Avanti device is general serious fault, they just suggest to contact the service. Try first to unplug the power cable for a while to see if control board resets.
As already suggested by Pauldonp, if the above dos not work, I would have the compressor tested, if it is not the compressor is a faulty control board
here is home repair service number:
    800-220-5570
Avanti parts are not easy to find here you buy parts
    800-220-5570
On this manual you find control board diagram, print diagram and pass it to the repairman

I have a Avanti wc492d wine cooler that is not working. The unit shows power(lights are working) but it will not cool at all. I can here a click sound when I change the temp set, but the cooler will not...

The issue could be the cold control, timer, wiring, or the compressor.

The temp control has to be closed for voltage to get to the timer. The timer then calls for the fans and compressor to run. The timer could have stalled after a defrost cycle or the cold control could not be sending voltage to the timer.

Temperature began to warm up daily until now it just stopped cooling

Hi, I tried to cross the model number you gave with Avanti and it did not do an exact cross reference.

Usually when a cooler slowly warms up the causes can be

1. The Compressor is not running at full speed or has stopped running

2. The PTC start / run relay / Klixon assy mounted on the Compressor has failed

3. The run capacitor has failed.

4. The temperature control has failed.

If the compressor is running and it is NOT cooling then there is a coolant leak or the coolant system had become blocked usually in the capillary tube area.

The current model numbers for parts are here:

http://www.avantiproducts.com/parts-accessories/current/yes

And the Discontinued model parts are here:

http://www.avantiproducts.com/parts-accessories/current/yes

Just note there are many aftermarket (like part) sources that will be much cheaper than Avanti sourced replacement parts. Most repair techs would advise you to use locally sourced replacement parts.

If in the compressor or evaporator and condenser area, Yes this is serious and indicates a Freon leak that will damage your compressor, Sea Breeze

same problem, can not fix. Had a authorized service tech who said that you can not add freon to this unit, the only option is to plant flowers in it.
