Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

The whole unit switches off after about 30 minutes. I thought it could be heating up and cleaned the fan (externally), put it on 1/2 inch brackets to ensure air circulation, changed to a different electrical outlet checked the cord and plug etc. all to no avail.

If you suspect thermal issues maybe you could verify that the unit actually feels hot when it dies. If not, it's some other cause.

Is the now-clean fan working?

I'm sure the manual of this unnamed component might give some clues as well as what the proper physical clearance around the unit should be maintained.

The memory data of error code is erased when the power supply is cut off, or press the Auto Switch until "beep" sound heard following by pressing the "CHECK" button at remote controller.
Although operation forced to stop when abnormality detected, emergency operation is possible for certain errors (refer to Error Codes Table) by using remote controller or Auto Switch at indoor unit. However, the remote controller signal receiving sound is changed from one "beep" to four "beep" sounds.

Ada, I think you have already diagnosed the problem. It's the Leviton timer. For whatever reason, it can not handle the fan motor without over heating. The best indicator, was the melted hot wire. Perhaps the switch was defective from the start. I suspect the timer was rated for a ceiling fan and not a whole house fan.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Does this have a fan attached to it or does the heat just stay around the unit. Does this have a thermostat or is it manually turn it on and off?

Is this in the garage or house?
1) Make sure no fans are operating when you do this.
An external fan can either **** the pilot off or blow it out.

2) Make sure if it has a thermostat that the sensing bulb located on the back is not picking up external
heat source.

3) If it has an external sensing bulb, put it in a bucket
of cold wtaer. Then try to light the pilot

Belt snapped last night think it was serpentine belt how much am i looking at to fix?

Depending on where you purchase the serpentine belt, and whether it's a budget or lifetime version, prices range from $18 to $33.

You can replace this belt yourself.

The belt goes around, and under various pulleys on your engine. There is ONE pulley that puts tension on this belt. There is a bracket, or 'arm', that this tensioner pulley is attached to. One simply takes a 1/2 inch breaker bar, and inserts it into a 1/2 inch square hole in that bracket.
You then pull the bracket over to one side with the breaker bar, (The direction will be pulling the tensioner pulley away from the serpentine belt), and slip the serpentine belt off of the pulleys.
The belt diagram of how the belt is placed around the pulleys, should be on the fan shroud support, or under the hood.

Nutone WA6500 range hood fan motor noisy

We have the same product, 18 months in use and the very noisy motor has finally seized up. I contacted the manufacturer and was advised that I need a new motor, motor mounting bracket and fan rotor. The agent was not able to quote me a price for the parts but stated that even though my 1-year warranty had expired, if I faxed them a copy of the original sales reciept they could possibly send me the parts for free under the original warranty agreement. I've done as they asked but haven't received a reply as yet. After reading about all the problems with this product I'm tempted to dump the whole unit and try to find another manufacturer that has a reliable and QUIET range hood.
