Power supply chips will be usually 24 pins or 20 pins. It will be a male kind of pins with white plastic surrounded by it. The power will come from the SMPS which will fixed on the top of the CPU in the back side. The power supply to the processor is again a male pin which is of 4 pins. this will be located very near to the processor itself.

Hp Pavilion, Power supply Inactive, HHD savagable, intel Chip Savagable, i was thinking a new motherborad for the chip and the hard drive ????

Hi,
If your Desktop not start it means not you mother board problem because starting you find your SMPS proper running or not. Because SMPS supply all power in CUP so you check it SMPS on or off position. if SMPS ok then you check it mother board light on or not, if on then ok or not on then you change SMPS supply.

If your display issue then you check it RAM and HDD.

Thanks.

My msi ms - 7352 ver :1.0 won't display but wen i plug the power cable on the power supply the cpu fan and power supply fan spin but wen i turn the pc on it doesn't display

Auto power on the mother board means there was not found RAM or VGA adapter. If you herd Beep tones
follow this link to identify the error
https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/bios-beep-codes

if not pls check the power supply 4pin connector correctly plugged .

Also need to check the cpu and post error codes by post diagnostic card to identify the eror.

My s88m g/gl motherboard is not switching on ,but the power supply is working

Power supply is other thing, means she ( Power Supply ) supply the power to *********** board. When mother get the power than she supply all the device. If, *********** board have problem, means not connect properly or burn ( any device ) than she not run. Better you check your all connect device with processor also.

No power, power supply seems ok,green light on mother board on. when pluged in the fan runs for a couple seconds and turns off.power button has no effect.

sounds like a mother board issue,

start with pulling out all ram chips and re try,,

then try pulling all cards out like old modem and also cdroms.

if ever thing but power is unpluged its a bad mother board or CPU chip
