Try using a different monitor or use that monitor on a different computer to see if the monitor is bad. It shouldn't have anything to do with your CMOS battery. I'd check to make sure the monitor itself is good before I go tearing my computer apart. Let me know how it goes and maybe we can get it figured out.

Monitor stays in sleep mode?

when you disconnect the monitor from the PC do you see the self test appear on the screen? if you do then the monitor is working fine.
the issue is most likely that the computer's screen resolution is too high and your monitor cannot output that resolution , so it stays a blank screen or in 'sleep' mode as you described.
youd need to go into either Safe Mode when booting the system or find another monitor preferably a newer model to connect your computer to and decrease the resolution before connecting your monitor.

Monitor keep going into "sleep" mode

Check the power setting in control panel of windows. If you have a monitor from another computer swap them and see if the problem stays with the computer or monitor.

Screen wont turn on with pc

check to see that your monitor cable is plugged in correctly and firmly.

If not boot into safe mode of windows and change your screen resolution to something compatible with your monitor.

try this and tell me what`s up.

Sharp light turns green thern turns yellow screen goes black

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.

although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode

some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card

hopefully one of those will work for you

When the computer is turned on the monitor goes to sleep mode

Go to safe mode, select boot in vga mode.

If this allows you to start,

Click start,Run type desk.cpl
Screen Saver tab | click on Energy
Under desk or office settings frame, set all values to "never".
Then click
Advanced Options, you'll see a frame asking you what to do.
Just select the options to turn off sleep mode.
check that out.

If you can't start this way,you need to try another monitor to change the setting above.

Please rate this a fixya
