Hi my sansui tv sv29281 takes time to show pictures after i switch it on & when it becomes on, it produces weid sound...what could be the problem, pls help

If the sound is a high pitched, sizzling sound then it is most certainly a high voltage problem. If you feel capable, take the back of the set off and in a darkened room turn the set on. I would imagine you will see high voltage arcing somewhere around the transformer, trippler or lead that connects onto the back of the screen. (not the picture tube). If you do, this area will need to be investigated. Make sure the set is turned off and has been off for at least half an hour as there are very high voltages still present due to high voltage capacitors. Make sure that the plugs are right and insulate any earthing points around the area with simple elastoplast tape. Any holes in the trippler, ( a plastic box looking thingy), can be covered with a hot glue gun or silastic. Good luck and please take care._

Got sound but no picture

If the model number listed here is correct either no high voltage is present or filaments to the 3 picture tubes it uses are not lit.

If a different model let me know, this one here is prone to all sorts of bad solder connections around the high voltage transformer and sometimes resoldering those cures problems

My rca tv has a distorted picture and a really high pitched buzzing sound

Problem is in High voltage circuit and likely either the high voltage transformer or a connection right under or around it.

Hitachi 51f59a lost picture powers up and can hear sound amp come on when turned on and off but no picture

You may have a shorted horizontal output transistor. This transistor drives the high voltage transformer which in turn drives the picture tubes. High voltage can be dangerous so you may want to have a repair shop check it out for you. Also have them apply a bead of silicon around the anode caps on the picture tubes. This will prevent high voltage leaking out and causing the horizontal output to short again. Thanks

AKAI PT5598HDI 55 Where is fuse located

This problem is beyond a blown fuse most likely. The fuses for the unit are located on the circuit boards and the back will need to be removed to access them. This problem could be due to a missing voltage that is used to turn on the picture section of the electronics. I would search for a used unit on ebay or parts on ebay and swap out the boards. The board swap is not too complex but voltages are dangerous within the set and service by a qualified electronics technician is recommended on this unit. Thanks and good luck. Dan

All of a sudden this TV has a problem of loosing voltage to the CRT and the screen suddenly goes black. After about 10 minutes the picture comes back. If you leave the set on for quite a while it seems...

You will have to tip the chassis up side down and look over most of the chassis close to the High Voltage Transformer (IFT) look for cold joints around there first, then locate the Vertical IC and look very closely at those pins, they usually have hair line stress ring cracks around them. If youv'e never done this type of work before I would take it in to a service co. It's not a major repair.

Black growing on screen

That is normally cold solder joints around the High Voltage transformer ( IFT) and also the video section. It should'nt be a major repair for a tech.

Hissing Sound

A hissing sound that comes from the back of the set (not from the speaker) usually indicates a high voltage leak, most likely around the "suction cup" at the top of the picture tube or around the flyback transformer. Remove the back of the set and turn it on, and when you hear the hissing sound, shut off all the lights in the room and you should be able to see a purple-ish or white-ish glow from the spot that is hissing. Shut the set off, discharge the high voltage and clean and seal the problem area. Of course this should be done by someone experienced with stopping high voltage leaks.
