First check the reset button on the head . next connect the hose directly to the head if its a cannister make sure your hose switch is on . if your mechanically inclined remove the screws on the bottom plate and remove the top with the hose disconnected directly connect the reset switch wires with a small piece of electrical tape connect your hose turn the vac on if it comes on either a buy a new reset switch b save money skin the wires and connect them . if that doesn't work go to the nozzel motor with the hose disconnected cut the lead wires leave plenty of slack connect an old electrical cord to the two terminals plug into a 110 outlet if it comes on your problem is in your elbow neck about $19.00 it is the part that your wands connect to if the motor doesn't come on then its your pn motor and it will need replaced $34-$50 dollars . connect everything back the way it was using correct sized wire taps and ul approved electrical tape put your screws in a safe place they are easy to use parts are avaiable on ebay cheaper than anywhere else . if you feel this job is too big contact me and i will repair it for $20.00 plus parts

Power head does not work canister does . There is voltage at the power head.

Although it could be a multitude of things that keep the power nozzle from operating properly, the most likely is, since it's an Epic series, Is that the power nozzle elbow assembly needs replaced as the fine wires and top of the elbow tend to break/short after 5-10 yrs. of use.
It's also very well possible that the power nozzle reset switch or hose switch at top of handle is defective. Try plugging the power nozzle directly into the hose handle assembly and turn machine on. If the power nozzle still doesn't work, it's definitely a problem directly with the power nozzle.

Hope that helps!

Need manual for epic series 6500sr

Hi,
Go to aerusonline.com. They have a section under the "surface" heading that you can download the manual. If no Epic 6500 is showing, use the Legacy manual. Same thing.
Hope that helps. :-)

The motor on my Epic 6500 works, the hose is sucking, but the power head isn;t working... I tried the sidestep power head and that one works. Ive opened and replaced the belt and that is fine. The bulb...

Connect the power nozzle directly to the hose and try.
Check the terminals where the wand connects to the PN. If any are discolored or cracked, that may be the problem.
Open the PN and check for loose or broken wires and connections. Repair or replace as necessary.
The reset switch could be broken or worn out. You can check this with a continuity tester or multimeter.
If none of these solve the problem the vacuum needs to be taken to your local Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis and repair.

Power head on my Electrolux Epic stopped working. Do I need a new one or could there be a part that needs replacing. Can I open it to see?

Have you tried pushing the reset button? I'd try that first. If that doesn't work it could be that the belt is broken. The motors don't go out very often on those.

Parts for Electrolux Epic 6500

You need to look under AERUS Electrolux to find a Dealer with parts.
Electrolux USA sold the brand name back to AB Electrolux of Sweden a few years ago and there is no relation between the two.
You may also find a common component of a different color at a Tri Star dealer as they shared some power head and hose technology in the era of the EPIC although they don`t tell people that

Power head on epic 6500 does not work, is there a belt?

This is a bot of a blind guess, I don't know the model. But most power head cleaners I have worked on use the suction of the vaccuum to spin a turbo fan in the head (like blowing a child's windmill). The head not spinning is usually because there's not enough **** to spin the turbo fan. Check for:
Gummed up brush bearings (dirt or damp) making the brush harder to turn than it should be.
Poor suction caused by a blocked or partially blocked pipe.
An obstruction that is tactchin the beater or the turbo fan.
Blocked filters on the cleaner, reducing the **** and thereby not providing enough vaccuum to spin the beater.
