The problem is that your smartdisk drive operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) under USB which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple mac is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac if you wish to use it via the USB connection.

An excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

Download and install the software then restart your mac.

How to transfer 57 gigs from a mac to firelite xp.

The hard drive maybe formatted in Windows NTFS format and the MAC cannot see this formatted hard drive.
If you only wanr to use this hard drive on a MAN then you need to format this hard drive with your MAC.
If you want to exchange files between your MAC and a PC then you need to format the hard drive on a PC in FAT32. The MAC can read and write to a FAT32 formatted hard disk.

I have looked for folder options but not available. I am using MacBook and wonder if answer was for PC? Regards Simon

If i have understand your request you need to know how to modify your folder options for your macbook,

first I guess you have the OSX in your mac.

if yes , all you have do do is:
right click in your folder
use the third one ( sorry my system is in French)
hear you are
to modify what you want you have to unlock the options ( see the red circle)

you have to put the administrator password

now you can modify what you need.

Hope this can help, and sorry for my English.

'Choice or Pass Along Items'

you might mean modifiers, that's what i'd usually set up. there are choice items too though but i think modifiers are most useful for restaurants.

to start with im not a Mac person ,
but make sure you have the jumpers set to either, slave, master or cable select,

Crossfire 160gb external hard drive.

If the drive was formatted in a newer windows OS and it is the NTFS file system, the Mac OS will only have read access. You can check this by plugging it in and checking the properties. To solve this you can copy your stuff off and reformat in the FAT32 format, you will only lose the security features that NTFS offers.
