This is a finepix a330 correct? You may need to update the firmware for one. Here is the link on the download and instructions for doing that:
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/a/finepix_a330/fupd.html

Do you have any card that does work? Or is this your only card? Also how long have you owned the camera and this card and how long have you had this problem.Once I have more information I can assist you further if the firmware update doesn't solve your problem.
Thank you,
Lee

    Memory Card Errors
    Question
Why do I receive a Card Error or Card Not initialized error?

    Answer
When you receive a "Card Error" or "Card Not
Initialized" message, this indicates that your
memory may be temporarily corrupted. This can be
due to not formatting your memory card on a
consistent basis. Most consumers will use
the "delete all" feature and continue to take
pictures. By doing this, the file format of the
    card may become unstable.

We recommend formatting your memory card in your
camera after saving the images from your previous
shooting session. Once a memory card is formatted,
the images will not be recoverable.

Also make sure that the lock isn't on the memory card itself. Also it may be a defective card and you may need to try a different card altogether. If/when you find this information helpful please take a moment to accept/rate my solution and I can assist you further.
    Thank you,
    Lee

Hi there,

Well first of all you may wipe the contact area of the memory card with a soft dry cloth. Most issues involving memory cards can also be resolved by formatting the card. You may follow the steps below to format the memory card in the camera.

Set the camera to playback mode and press the MENU/OK button. Scroll to the ERASE menu and highlight FORMAT. Select OK then press the MENU/OK button for confirmation. Once the formatting process is complete you may return to taking pictures.

Or, Set the camera to photography mode and press the MENU/OK button. Scroll to the OPTION menu and choose SETUP. Press MENU/OK to enter the SETUP menu. Highlight FORMAT and press MENU/OK. Highlight OK then press MENU/OK to begin formatting process. Once complete you may return to taking pictures.
(You may follow the user's manual for detailed instructions).
Post comments for further help or information.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

SOURCE: PUT NEW XD PICTURE CARD

A lot of times you can't just put in a new memory card especially one that is bigger then the one you were using. Make sure that your camera is capable of using a 2 GB memory card. If it's an older camera then I would say that the 2 GB is to large for your camera to handle. Try and replace it with the one you were using to see if your camera is ok. If it does work then your card is to big. You can check the manufactor web site or google it.

SOURCE: problem with olympus digital camera d-395

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is a 512mb card without the letter M or H in front of the 2gb. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there are no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

SOURCE: olympus fe 370 xd card 2gb formatted memory

As long as the xD card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge. http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images. Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".

SOURCE: I installed a 2gb Olympus xd picture card and

wow that is kinda long did you format it in the camera or on your computer? also if you turn down the video/picture quality it will not take so long but 2 min is kinda long you might have a bad card take it back where you got it and see if they will swap it for a different one format it in the camera and try again if it is still slow try to format it in your computer and use FAT32
this is the most compatible and should work best Thanks 8^)

Is olympus xd -picture card, type m+ 2gb compatable with camera Fujifilm Finepix.

XD cards are now obsolete memory cards. The cards were developed by Olympus and Fujifilm and released during the summer of 2002. There is now an adapter that allows an SD card to be used in place of the XD card You need to remember that the capacity should not exceed 2 GB or the camera will not be able to accept it. As far as I know cameras accepting XD cards were last produced in 2007, I don't know what specific models however the camera specifications would show what type card it uses.

Yes, you can use the XD M+2GB card in your camera. The M+ card is a faster one. The following website gives you more on it.
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_xd.asp

"The Type M+ xD-Picture card is compatible with the Type M card in all cameras and is 1.5 times faster than the Type M card. The increase in speed may be useful in sequential shooting of digital stills and in the recording of high-density video with Olympus cameras."

Good luck.

It's possible that your camera, being 7 years old, was never designed for a 2gb card. You can find cards of all sizes at amazon.com
