Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touchscreen Wont Work

My unit is approx 3 years old. Now the touchscreen wont work. It is like the left side of the screen is always on the 3rd preset. I cant use the navigation system at all and it wont let me change radio stations. Is this thing toast after 3 years ?

Within a year of purchasing my AVIC-D1, everything started going bad. The right side of my touch screen is either not sinked to where you are actually touching or will not respond at all. My music CD only wants to eject half the time. The blue SOURCE button is like half working and when you go to open the face to load a CD, it acts like its getting caught and binded up. I regret buying this POS.

Like many others, the navi is only 3yrs old & its gone to s!!! already. I've been told that i have to send it to the factory for recalibration. So, that means i have to pay someone to take it out, pay for shipping & repairs, & pay for re-installationThats some BS!!! I thought pioneer was top of the line..

Pioneer has a repair service center in California. Look up warrenty and service repair on their site. With a problem that detailed it realy cant be narrowed down to one thing. The good thing is you have enough wrong that you actualy benifit from their flat rate fee's for repair.

Me on the other end ended up paying $200 for them to replace a fuse. :( So yeah look up the repair centers number, give them a call and they will tell you what you need to do. The unit is repairable.

Touchscreen is inoperable on the right side

Right there with you, I have a avic d2 as well. my screen is not working at all. I work on stereos, and can not fix it myself, because Pioneer will not sell the ribbon cable needed to fix it. You must ship the unit to them, and pay $180 for a five minute repair. I used to buy only Pioneer, I have moved on to alpine. Pioneer has gone way, way down hill as soon as they stopped making there product in Japan.

Have you tried returning this item? It sounds like there is a malfunction in the eject try taking it apart and blowing it to get all the dust out.

I had the same problem.

I found that resetting the AVIC-D1 with the engine running functioned differently tjhat wirth the engine off. I first tried pressing the reset thit the ignition on and the engine off, but that didn't fix the problem.
I did a reset with the engine running and the parking brake set and the open button started working again.

Good luck.

I AM ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE A BACKUP CAMERA CONNECTED AND IF SO YOU COULD TRY RESETTING THE UNIT BY EITHER PRESSING THE RECESSED BUTTON ON THE FASCIA OR REMOVING THE POWER FOR A FEW MIN'S OR THE TOUCH PANEL MAY HAVE BECOME OPEN CIRCUIT WHICH WOULD REQUIRE REPLACEMENT
