Question about RTO Construction Bobcat by Woody Click

Bobcat 751 loses power after running for only 15-20 minutes. Noticed that the hand primer pump gets sucked in- it helps to prime it back up but throttle is slowed down again from the same thing after a short period. Please help.

It might be that the fuel line inside the fuel tank is clogged, its fairly easy just have to be careful with the grommet when you pull it out. Could also be that you need a new hand primer ball(pump). They seem to go bad.

How do i know if fuel hoses are connected to right sockets

Knowing the make and model will help. Some saws have a primer bulb that will suck the fuel through the carb to prime it.

If this is the case, here is the sequence: Fuel line from tank goes to the (fuel in) side of the carb. The (fuel out) side of the carb goes to the primer bulb the (suction side) The (blowing side) of the primer goes to the return to tank.

So when the primer is pumped it pulls fuel into the carb to prime it and any over priming gets returned back to the tank.

Where does the fuel Draw line enter into the fuel tank?

I would make sure your line in tank isnt floating and I have heard about the rubber lines forming vaccuum and collapsing temporarily. I would blow out your lines and check fuel filter and I have some diagrams with parts list should show you everything you are wanting to know, good luck!

I replaced my well pump and put everything back where it was. I prime it and plug in and pump runs but I got no pressure and no water comes through. I even put hide in line from the well Any ideas

it still needs priming all the way down to the foot valve
try putting a hose fitting in the primer hole and with a good water supply ( tank, garden hose ) turned on run the pump until you get a good supply the turn of the primer hose
if you have an air leak the pump will stop pumping after a few seconds as it sucks in the air and the prime is lost
could indicate that there is no water at the foot valve

My sm 909-nhw 14 1" pump just stopped sucking water when I was hooking it back to the filter. It did not loose the prime and the power source was working. Could it need a new impeller?

Hi Pamela:
Several possibles:
- Power supply - does the pump motot actually run
- Pump function - if the motor is running, is the pump spinning?
- Prime - did it trick you and lose the prime?

IF THE PUMP IS SPINNING, IT IS PRIMED, THE VALVES ARE OPEN, AND INTAKE WATER IS AVAILABLE, THE ONLY REASON I CAN THINK THAT IT WON'T WORK IS THAT THE IMPELLER SHAFT IS BROKEN.

Primer bulb not pumping fuel into carb, pull it out, no splits etc. Once I get fuel in it starts and runs fine??

Probably a valve in the priming system is stuck. It allows fuel to flow into the bulb from the tank, the valve should close then and allow the bulb pressure to spray into the carburetor. Could also be the opening into the carburetor from the prime bulb is blocked.

Why will bobcat run when I prime for about 15 seconds and die but if I hang fuel supply to injectors it will keep running

Sounds as if the transfer pump between the tank and injection pump is the issue. A restricted line from the tank would stop the strongest pumps from doing the job. Fuel filters are suspect too.

Bobcat trouble shooting

Hello Angie, Check the fuel filter. Sometimes when the fuel tank is run dry, the sediment on the bottom of the tank gets sucked up by the fuel pump and clogs the fuel filter.

I have a 1988 30 hp.evinrude that starts and runs fine till i reach 3/4 throttle,then it will die.ant suggestions?

Fuel line could be sucking air.check breather not blocked on fuel tank.if fuel bulb sucks flat, means blockage btwn bulb and tank.have you tried priming motor while running at full throttle.could also be dirty carb

Bobcat 773 wont restart after dying out where do i start?

if the bobcat starts and then runs for a short time then dies the first place to look is the fuel system.fuel filters are the most common problems that i see replace those first.i have also found some junk inside the pickup tube inside the tank.there is probably a ball type hand pump to prime the fuel system.give that a squeeze and see if its hard.if thats the case there shoud be a small screw on top of the fuel filter.loosen that screw and see if fuel comes out when you sqeeze the ball.if your changing fuel filters this is also where you blead air from the system, keep pumping untill there is only fuel and no air.if you still get air after pumping for a long time then your sucking air into the system between the tank and pump.after you get fuel there close the screw, loosen the injector lines going to the injectors, crank the engine, and tighten when fuel comes out (keep clear because that is high pressure fuel).after you get fuel at all injectors and they are all tightened it should start.

Throttle cuts back, at the same time the hand primer pump is sucked in. Only by bleeding any air out and re-pressurizing the hand pump the bobcat runs fine for about 20 minutes then revs down again.

I say start at the easiest problem which could be that your hand primer pump is bad. Then check the fuel tube inside your fuel tank, it has a screen at the end and could be clogged.
