I am having trouble getting this router to connect and give me wireless capabilities. It worked fine when we had cable internet, but now we have moved and have dsl internet service. i get all the way through the setup process, but when it gets to where i type in my pppoe login/password is when i hit the problem. it says that the internet connectivity test has failed because my information is wrong. i have triple checked with at&t internet help desk and my information is correct. is there something i am missing in the setup process, or does this router not work with dsl internet, how do i fix this problem??? please help me!!!

You router doesn't support Dsl (Dsl line) internet connection. You'll need another dsl modem if you would like to use this router with the dsl connection. There's nothing more that i have to tell you. I've been working with this model and i know that it doesn't.
One more thing, don't mistake with that this router doesn't support poppe, it does, but doesn't have built-in dsl modem with it.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Do I need any special equipment other than the ethernet cable connection for my linksys broadband wireless-g router

That's all you need to get your wireless internet up and running. However, in order to connect computers to the wireless network, they must be wireless capable, for example, most laptops have built in wifi, however desktops will need a wireless adapter to take advantage of your wireless router.

How to set up my router to get speed by ISP? I have 80/25Mb/sec speed. The router access only 15/15Mb/sec.

Are you measuring while using an Ethernet cable between your computer and your router, or while using your "wireless" adapter to wirelessly connect to the router?

Re-cable your system, to temporarily connect your computer directly to the cable-modem, bypassing the router, and then measure the speed. If it still is "low", then telephone your ISP, and get them to trouble-shoot.

Otherwise, the router is capable of receiving at up to 100Mbit/second, and its "wired" ports are capable of sending to your computer at up to 100Mbit/second.

Does your computer have a "Wireless-G" (54Mbits/second) or a "Wireless-N" (more than 108Mbits/second) network-adapter?

You should reset your router by sticking a pin in the pin hole on the back.
Once reset, reconnect a LAN cable and then reconfigure the wireless network.

If you keep having trouble connecting, try changing the channel your wireless network is being broadcast on.

There is no internet working with the Belkin G wireless Router

How do you have your connection set up? Normally, your modem connects to the router, and router to computers, this is how yours is set up? Since your router is wireless-capable, just make sure that your laptop has its wireless turned on and you have the router's "Wireless" set up, name (SSID) is done, security method chosen. I like WEP-PSK[TKIP] for its simplicity, keeping in mind that all logins to your network will need this passcode as well.

Connection drop-outs

Is your laptop wireless adapter a compatable brand. It doesn't necessarily mean the router is bad, you may even be getting RADIO interference from a cordlees or a cell phone in it's path. Do you have the capability to plug a cat-5 cable directly into your laptop from the router when you lose wireless? Check the wireless channels and see about changing the channel on your cordless phone too. May not work, just a hunch.

Good Luck

Server not found} NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router doesn't connect me to the internet.

Dear Loud Nouises,

Your router must be connected properly to the cable modem. This must be to the wan port on the router.

Next, the router must be set-up accordingly to recognize the modem's internet connections. Please ask for the IP address.. and other relevant informations from your internet provider.

Set -up your computer using the internet connections wizard on each of your respective computer.

This should work fine if all connections were correctly configured.
