Hi, this is a 3 ton unit. There is no reset button for the outdoor unit. If it is not coming on, you need to check for power. The indoor and outdoor units are on different power supplies. Check the breaker at the main box to see if it tripped off. If so, try and reset it. If it trips again as soon as you try and reset it, you have a dead short in the outdoor unit, fan, compressor, ect. If the breaker is on, you should have a box by the unit its self. Pull the block plug out and most have 2-fuses in them. If you don't see them, if it has a plastic cover in the box, remove it and they will be there if this box has them, most do, but there is a few that do not. If so, replace them both. Turn all back on and see what happens. If it runs, turn off power again and take your water hose and wash out the wrap around coil to clean it. This keeps the internal pressures down in the system, but be careful not to bend or flatten the aluminum fins on the coil with to much pressure. There could be many other reasons that will keep the outdoor unit from coming on, like a time delay relay faulty that can be bypassed to get it started, but I would need to see the schematics to do this or walk you through it. Try what I have said to see if its a power problem and get back to me on this. I will wait to hear from you. Please rate me also, and please be kind as I know you will. I will be here if you need me. My lg split system model is LMS304V-4. the fan inside turns on for 3 minutes then turns off but the compressor does not cut in at all. the green light on the left of the panel inside blinks 5 times stops...

I could not find the model number listed in your inquiry, but a lot of LG minispits use the 5 blinking light for indication of poor communication between inside and outside units. Try this before replacing control boards. Power down the outside unit. Remove the cover for the control wiring and loosen and retighten the 4 wire going into the inside unit. Then go in and remove the shroud cover for the inside unit and find the other end of the control wires and loosen and retighten them. Sometimes over time corrosion builds up and causes loss of signal and the lack of proper signal during communication is similar to someone talking to you while you are listening to loud music while wearing a headset. You cannot hear what is being said because to much noise. Remove the cover on the outside unit and see if it has a white reset button. If it does have a reset button after you have performed steps above, try restoring power and pressing the reset button. If it does not have a reset button, it should automatically reset when power is turned back on. If these steps do not help you will probably have to replace the control board on the condensing unit.
Hope this helps.

It is a Ruud UAKA-024JA2 combination of air conditioner and central heater. The outside air conditioner fan stopped running but buzzed. The capacitor is out of order. Do you have instructions how to locate...

Hello, the capacitor is a round or oval metal can that is located in the control pnael of the outside unit. In order to replace it you must turn off power to you unit and unhook the wires that go into the capacitor, but make sure you label them so you remember where they go back. When you unhook the wires take a screw driver with a insulated handle and put in across the terminals of the capacitor to discharge it. Then just remove and install new one.

My ruud serial number 5427 M1496 07992 Model UAKA-024 Jaz Is not blowing cold air. I started the unit inside the house then went outside to see if the fan is working on the outside unit and it is...

1) Replace both fuses if there are any out by the unit
*also make sure the breakers are not tripped. there will be two
2) if you get the unit running inspect the outdoor coil under the outside fins to see if the coil is stopped up with dirt, grass, etc.
*if the coil is dirty, disconnect the unit from power, take the 4 screws out on the top of the unit that hold the fan motor assembly in place. Carefully set the entire motor, blade and assembly off to the side and be careful not to pull the motor wires loose. With a water hose and sprayer, carefully wash the condenser coil from the inside out. You will see a lot of debris on the outside fins you will have to wash off. Be careful not to have so much water pressure that you bend the aluminum fins on the coil itself.
** many times if the coil is stopped up this will cause the unit to overheat and trip breakers

RUUD uaka-036jaz not cooling, outside fan does not turn on but air handler (in attic) runs and circulates hot air - how to fix and/or reset?

Check your disconnect or breaker that is located close to the outside unit. Next you need to check the contactor in the outside unit. Set the thermostat to make the air come on then check the contactor. It should be pulled in closing the contacts. If it isn't the problem could be the contactor or thermostat. Next check the voltage on the load side with it pulled in. If that's good then check the capacitor. If it looks swollen, it's bad. You can also use a multimeter with the capacitor check function to do this. Let me know what you find.

Where is the reset button on the Comfortmaker AC-model number NAC048AKC3? Thank you!

if it is a split system that is permanently installed in your house the reset button will always be near the compressor so that means on the outside unit somewhere, you probably wont need to remove any screws to get to it. but before you press that button and think all is well, why did the reset button trip? answer> because it is a high pressure cut off. your unit probably reached over 350psi on the high side line or possibly even higher. that is not good. you may have a dirty condenser coil (outside) and you can just hose that out with a garden hose (pull the disconnect first). or you may have a rotting out coil if your unit is old or you live less than 5 miles from the ocean. Or you may have a bad condenser (outside) fan motor. check that out. if it overloads again after hitting the reset (which this unit may not even have, not all units have these just the higher end ones) well if it does overload again call a licensed ac guy trust me it will cost you less in the long run.

Unit not turning on rudd model UAKA 024JAZ

Check float switch at Air Handler inside. Check breaker to outside unit. May have red button on outside unit by copper lines may be tripped. Have someone turn on unit while you stand by it. Can you here the contactor pull in. If so you have a high voltage problem. Call service tech adn ask for free estimate. That way you know what is going to cost you. Rus
