Good day,
If you peel back the inner part of the gasket and it is held on with screws then yes you can.
The first step is to get the gasket, lay it out and make sure it is O.K.
Let it relax and become plyable.
The next steps are extremely important.
Remove the screws from the top and HALF the way down each side. Peal the gasket off and let it droop to the bottom.
Take the new gasket and install it along the top and half way down each side.
Once done tighten all the screws firmly.

The next step is to repeat the process on the lower half. It will be a little more difficult because you will have to streach it to get around both bottom corners.
At this point install all the screws and tighten using the proceedure you used for the top half.
Light wrinkes may exist. If you care, very light use of a hair dryer may help.

It is critical you do not remove all of the screws at once or even loosen them. You will loose the alignment integrity of the whole door and never I REPEAT NEVER, get the door to close properly.

Shut the machine off while doing the repair. It will take a while but with patience on your side it will turn out good.

My fridge/freezer is frosting cos the rubbers shot x local repairman says he will not fix as "it never works"x can I replace them myself? difficult? x leroy

most places have a " seal-a fridge " type business that comes to your place and makes and fits door seals to fridges and freezers
check in the trade pages of the phone directory or go google and type in--- fridge door seals and repairs -- to see if there is a business close to you
the only problem that you may have is , if the door and seal edge area is badly rusted
if you can get a seal from a service agent spares and you have some ability you may be able to fit the new seal your self

How to tell if you need a new fridge seal?

So, you'r wondering, "Do I need a new Door Seal on my Fridge?" Well one simple, and foolproof method, is to use a large Torch, turn the Torch on, and place in middle shelf, of the fridge, facing OUT, now, Close the Door, (It may be best to do this at night actually), Now, have a look for any light escaping, around the door, anywhere you see the light, is an area where the cold, gets out. Sometimes you can see if manipulating the Fridge Door Seal & Magnet, at those Areas, and sometimes you can get small areas to close up, but if you have any big areas, or many, many, small areas, then it is time to Replace that Door seal For sure. There should actually be NO Light at all. The door seal should seal 100%, if not, then as related, the Door Seal, must/should be replaced.

Looking for a replacement seal measures 1040mm x 600mm

probably the best idea is to contact a local fridge/ freezer person that replaces seals on the doors of fridges and freezers (yellow pages for a start-fridge repairers)
they have an assortment of seal profiles on board and they make the seal to suit the door on site
The cost is about 75% of new price
ask the service agent spares for a seal, because although the freezer may be old , seals didn't change all that much and you may still get a seal from them
From the size I am guessing that it is a chest freezer probably an electrolux/email product and you may be lucky if it is

Here is a link to an Australian supplier of Hoover fridge door seals:

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

Not sure if you can pick it up locally yourself, but you can certainly order one online and have it delivered. Just look for your specific model number at the above website.

Good luck.

LEC L6046W FRIDGE - ICE/FROST INSIDE THE BACK WALL. MOTOR IS RUNNING CONSTANTLY.CLEANED ALL THE ICE OFF BUT WHEN SWITCHING BACK ON, WITHIN 10MINS THE ICE,FROST IS BACK?

1.I think you might have a thermostat problem it is over cooling the system and doesn't shut off when it is suppose to. Replace the thermostat
2.If the door seal is broken or the door is not closed shut with the seal magnet nice and tight against the fridge it will form ice inside the fridge as well. Replace the door seal. (this is very common with old fridges)
