Motherboard ID 07/28/2004-KM266-8237-6A6LYM4BC-00 **Above mentioned is the motherboard id of my motherboard. can u please tell me how much of the DDR can i use on my board? m using now one 512mb and another of 256 mb? Can i go increase it to 2gb? ***Another thing which i would like to ask u most importantly, currently m using the DDRs of Real Clock 133 Mhz and Effective Clock of 267 Mhz. how much Mhz DDR my motherboard will gonna support? Can i purchase 400 Mhz DDR or More?     can u please clarify me what is meant by "UNDERCLOCKED"? would the ram not work at its peak ? for instance if i install 1 gb 400 mhz per slot (totalling 2 gb) wouldnt they work at there peak and give me the best and quicker performance which they should do and intended to do?

    and how can i lower the timings one unit? please clarify these i shall be thankful to u...

Yes, you can buy DDR400, it will be underclocked by the motherboard to DDR266. If you want some extra performance you can go in the BIOS and lower the timings one unit.
Yes, they will work, but not very fast. They should be used only as a last option.

    underclocked - the components is run at a lower speed than its default one - the opposite of overclocked.



    For example if you would install DDR400 they will be automatically run at DDR266 speeds, the maximum your motherboard is capable
    These are the timings http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/2...   they are defined and modifiable in the BIOS. On an average DDR400 stick they are 4 - 4 -  4 - 8
    Since you are underclocking  they can be lowered to 3 - 3 - 3 - 7 or even lower , to 2 - 2 - 2 - 6.

Sorry but that motherboard does not support dual core processors. The socket type is 478 which is Pentimum 4 and will support anything up to a 3.2 GHz processor.

What make is your motherboard? If you open up the case and there should be info and model number on it. The just go to the makers website a get appropiate drivers.
