Mcdevito75 here, The Internal workings of all watches and clocks, Quartz and mechanical is called the movement. You may have a weak or even dead battery, even if the battery is new. If you"ve dropped your watch, got it water logged, you could have hurt the Quartz movement. It'll take special equiptment to check the Quartz movement to see if it"s burned out. I would try another battery or at least double check this batteries instalation in your watch. For more info, here is Casio"s contact number, 800-435-7732 9AM--5PM EST.

Casio Wave Ceptor 2296 watch battery replacement

if it's a water proof watch or water resistant then yes it might use pressure instead of an O-Ring to seal the watch from letting water inside of it. And if thats the case the watch let water in like a sponge in the current state it is in. If i were you and the watch was that important to me, i would take and send it in. Watch battery's need replacing what every 5-8 years? Over that amount of time the price really isn't too steep.

Battery

The Casio Forester FT500WVB watch has an EL (Electroluminescent) backlight and requires one silver oxide button battery. The SR621W battery (also known as type 363) is recommended by the instruction manual for the watch. Note the suffix "W" means this battery is a high drain type which is suitable for powering a watch mechanism and the EL light as well for 2 to 3 years, depending on use of the light. "SW" suffix batteries are low drain and are intended only to power a watch mechanism, and not a light. Note also the "SR" prefix indicates the battery is silver oxide and not lithium. The SR type batteries do not use mercury and are therefore safer to dispose of when they are discharged. I have found the type SR626W (also known as type 377) battery is also suitable for the FT500WVB watch and it has more stored power and should therefore last longer.

Last, the Casio Forrester FT500WC looks exactly like the FT500WVB, but it is a different watch internally. The FT500WC has an LED light and requires two batteries- the SR920SW low drain silver oxide battery which powers the watch mechanism and the CR1616 lithium battery which powers the LED. The LED is brighter than an EL light and stays on longer than the EL light when activated. But the LED has a bright dot light source that some might find annoying.

Changed battery .A square piece of metal the size of match head fell out. No alarm or light, casio forester FT200

mcdevito75 here, Of couse without the watch and piece of metal that fell out it"s very hard to say. Most likely it was part of the lock-down tab to keep the battery in place, in any event don"t lose that piece of metal. If your casio is working ok don"t worry about it, just don"t lose that piece of metal that fell out.

I had the battery in my Casio G Shock DW 6800 replaced. Since then none of the beeps or alarms have worked. Is there a reset button he didn't press?

There is a reset button inside your watch, but I don't think that is the problem. Most likely, there is a spring that makes contact to the watch and the back of your watch case, and it fell out by the person replacing your battery. I would definitely go back to the place where you had the battery installed, and have them take care of the problem buy ordering you a new spring or have them pay for you to send it to Casio.
