Be a little more specific. The OS your using.. system info like 32x64 bit.

I had a similar problem where my wi-fi wouldn't work at all but it was a driver issue. There was a driver that would work but I hade to drop my ram from 4gb to 2 to make it work.

Other than that I would say check the connectivity of the antenna, then look around. are there and motors nearby to cause interference, is a microwave on. What other 2.4ghz wavelength devices do you have running in the house. (wireless phones can often times kill a wifi signal totally)

Plug in the adapter, install the driver, from the wireless icon in your system tray join your neighbors wireless network. That is of course assuming your neighbor knows about it and it isn't password protected.

How do I ecrypt my internet connection

Encryption (WEP) is enabled/configured on the wireless router (access point) for the wireless network. If this is your home network, then you need to be the one to set-up the encryption on the router first, then you 'join' the encrypted network using 'keys' you created during the configuration on the router. If this appears to be written in 'gerneral' terms, it is true because each router manufacture does it a bit differently.

If you are joining a 'public' WIFI connection that does not have security, you will not be able to encrypt it since the router is providing an 'open' non-secure access.

Location that present secure encrypted access will provide you with the 'key' to access the network, which you add to the set-up configuration of your adapter via the driver properties of your operating system

Xbox 360 wireless adapter connects but can't join parties!

If you think its the wireless adapter, try using a laptop (that has wireless) to connect your xbox to your network. Just get a straight through (network) cable connect one end to the xbox and the other into the ethernet port on your laptop. Then go into your network settings and bridge the connections (if you don't know how to bridge connections try youtube or just google it) Now your laptop acts like your wireless network adapter. See if your problem occurs with the laptop, if not then it is the adapter. I hope this helped solve your problem.
