This is probably due to water condition. check your salt and rinse aid settings. Also don't over soap

look at the arm that has the water nozzles on it to see if some of them are plugged. Also make sure the screen at the bottom of the machine isn't restricted.

Are chalkboards unhealthy?

WiseGeek.com says:There are two separate issues buried in the question of chalk dust safety. In one sense, the main ingredients of chalk dust are considered to be non-toxic, which simply means they do not pose a threat when ingested. In another sense, chalk dust can and does accumulate in the human respiratory system, which means it can create long-term health problems due to overexposure. In short, swallowing a piece of white chalkboard chalk won't kill you, but breathing in chalk dust for a number of years can create or trigger respiratory problems.

Dishwasher is about 8 years old an dishes are just not as clean. Looks like they have a bit of residue on the dishes. Dishes clean in terms of food, but just not squeaky clean look anymore. Way to clean...

Are you in a location with "hard" water, meaning that the water has alot of minerals in it like calcium? If so, you may may need to get the water treated with a water softener system, either at the dishwasher or for the whole house.

Chalky dishes in dishwasher

the problem is not the dishwasher but the water that actually is going into it. the white, powder substance is because of hard water. there is a affordable product out there called the dishwasher filtration system. it will filter the water going into your dishwasher and solve the problem once and for all!!! it is affordable and easy to install. www.dishwasherfilter.com
