Hello try to download a manual from Asus:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VDCMX/#download

Select manual and click on global for download.
You need a pdf reader to read content.

Here is only drivers for windows vista but they sometimes work on windows 7.

If you are useing a IDE drive there is slow the installation can stop.

Try with a satadrive and set up the bios for it. Then it shoud work.

If you can update the bios to the latest version before you continue
you might have to install xp again or borrow a drive with xp installed.

If you have no experience upgradeing the bios let a expert do the job.

Good luck

I have installed windows 7 on p5vd-mx and it is not working fine what is the solution

This board may not support Windows 7 unless you install a video board with 128 MB or more of graphics memory. The onboard video appears to be only 64 MB. The main memory should be at 4GB even though Windows 7 will operate at a minimum of 1 GB(very slowly). I would first run the Microsoft Windows 7 Advisory software to see any compatibility issues. If it was my decision, I would get a new ASUS motherboard certified for Windows 7 with DDR3 memory, a 1GB graphics card, and a 1TB Hard Drive. Upgrading to Windows 7 requires a computer upgrade in most cases.

I am using ASUS P5VDC-MX Motherboad with window 7 operating system and drivers are not install properly. window 7 transition effects are also deactivate. why ?

To ensure your system works properly, you will need to locate the drivers for your specific hardware. Your motherboard will have its own drivers, in addition to any expansion cards you have installed, such as a graphics card. Your motherboard drivers can be located at ASUS's website:

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=Wv3U3hfa7ZbODqSr&content=download

If you have not installed an expansion graphics card, and are using the one on your motherboard, this should fix the Windows 7 "transition effects." I believe what you are referring to is the Aero theme. If you are using an expansion graphics card, you will need to get the drivers from the appropriate manufacturer (generally NVIDIA or ATI). If the effects still are not working after you install the appropriate drivers for your system, you can right click the desktop, and click Personalize. This should bring you to a screen where you can choose an Aero theme.

Also of final note, the Aero effects are not available under Windows 7 Starter, so make sure you are using Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate Edition.

Please let me know if you need any additional help with this. Thanks!

Vista is full of bug...
But if you want it...
The make sure you got "Boot from CD ROM" as first boot piority
To do this press "Del or F12" on boot up to get to BIOS and it is in boot sequence...
