If you really need lots more space, install or have someone else install a new, bigger hard drive. You'll need a pata interface 2.5" hard drive. I installed a 160g and use the 40g that came with it as an external drive now. Souped it up to 2g memory and it's running great.

Why am i losing disk space?

you can remove temporary internet files, and turn off, then turn on again system restore. Both should free up a bit of space. Otherwise, Check your hard drive using a different antivirus program. If your hard drive is split into multiple partitions, you could repartition it to give more space to the system drive (usually C:)

My hard drive is getting full can I clear it by doing factory default

If you do a factory default you will lose everything you have in there including all your Programs. The best way to empty your hard drive is throw out everything you DO NOT WANT in to the Recycle Bin and then EMPTY IT. You will gain back all that space.

Something you can do to help you gain more space is to run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. These 2 Programs could really help you gain more space. You can find then by going to START then in to ALL PROGRAMS then in to Accessories then in to System Tools and then Click on Disk Cleanup first after it Runs, a Window will appear in the Window under Files to Delete Check off all the Boxes then Click OK. Don't Worry you will not Delete anything important.

Now doing the same steps by going to START then in to ALL PROGRAMS then in to Accessories then in to System Tools and then Click on Disk Defragmenter this program will tighten up your Hard Drive by striating out your files and fixing them.

To me this is the best way to do it and safest way!

My laptop as low disk space ands i need to reset my laptop to factory settins

When you do a factory reset you will normally lose everything on your hard disk so the low disk space should not be an issue ... BE SURE THAT, AS REQUIRED, YOU BACKUP EVERYTHING FIRST (on an external drive).

Adding more hard space

If you are running out of hard disk space you need to do disk maintenance to recover lost disk space.
Please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

If you still need more disk space you can add another hard disk to your computer as a slave hard drive. You can move your data to this new hard drive and free up disk space on your C Drive.

Losing DISK space when I burn a DISC.

Your burning application will have a temporary folder, which you can clear out once you have burned the DVD. It's typical for the application to make an image of the disc first, i.e. a temporary copy, and then copy it to the disc, as it is the most efficient way of doing the job.
