I want to format my nokia 5233 phone, since phone memory is full

This is to inform you that formatting the phone memory will remove all the data stored in the phone memory ( for e.g. messages, contacts etc).

Formatting can be done by Resetting the phone to factory settings. To do this press *#7370#. Now you will be asked to enter the lock code. The default lock code for Nokia is 12345 if you havn't changed it.

Now the phone will restart and the phone memory will be formatted.

Good luck and have a nice day.

N77. it says it says memory is full, i may not be able to receive any messages. After reformatting the memory card ( which is why i lose my favorite games in the application), it still tells me the same...

The memory full error comes not because of memory card. It comes because the internal memory is full. There was no need to format memory card. you have to format the internal memory.
Here is the procedure: 1. Take backup of your contacts and messages because they will be DELETED after formatting 2. Dial *#7370# from your phone. It will ask to format. Press yes 3. It will also ask the pin or password. The default password is 12345. The phone will restart and the memory full message will disappear.

Hi i am unable to delete files on a sandisk micro sd 2gb. i have tried various programs to delete them. the file themselves say it is 0kb but still says full when its in my phone is says it is full. thanks

ok do you want to delete individual file or clean it completely.
if the memory card has gone corrupt the easiest solution to find out whether its gone faulty or just corrupt would be to format the memory card but this would mean losing all that is on there.
to format your card
1. insert it in your computer or laptop
2. go to my computer and you should see your memory card or it may say removable disk :? (? being a letter which it will name it)
3: right click on card and select format from the drop down menu
4: select quick format and click next
and all being well should be clean and ready to use again if it fails the format it generally shows that the memory card has gone faulty

Memory on my phone is working funny!

Bad happens, on a Smart Phone, its inevitable you do something wrong, and it calls for a reset or format of the phone. There are three ways to reset the phone:
1. Soft Reset: Press *#7780#, then enter the lock code. This resets the phone to the original settings, however no format is done.
2. Hard Reset (Soft Format): Press *#7370#, then enter the lock code, which is the secret code of the phone. This will format the phone memory and reset the phone to default settings.
3. Hard Format: Switch off the phone then press and hold <3>, <*> and <Call> (Send) buttons, then power on phone, keep holding on the 3 buttons, till you come to a format screen. This method does need not need the security code, but security code would be reset to default 12345
Note: battery must be fully charged, otherwise if the format is disrupted by low battery, consequences will be disastrous.

If there are various problems like too slow performance and very frequent hangs, try formatting the phone. Formatting the phone makes it new as it is out of the box. But, the OEM apps (like Camera & Real Player) won't be deleted.

First format your MMC: Menu > Extras > Memory > Options > Format Memory Card > Yes. Then format your phone by typing *#7370# on main phone screen. Phone will ask: "Restore all original phone settings? Phone will restart", Press ‘Yes’ and enter your lock code (default is 12345).

External Memory Card Not Recognised

It sounds like your phone's card reader is broken or has debris inside.
To clear debris, use a blast of air to the socket to clean it.
If your card reader is shot, you need to replace the controller.  If the phone is under warranty, get it replaced.

My n73 always shows that my memory is full

you need to format your phone. try the soft format of *#7370# , if this doesnt work then do a hard format by folowing these steps

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold these 3 keys; Green dial key, * (star key) and no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to switch on the phone.

Do not let go all of the keys, hold until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the full phone formatting completed, your phone will be back to original system and factory setttings.

All applications installed will be lost unless you've made a backup on your mmc. You can restore the backup to the C drive again.

You should also try to save all your data on the mmc, that includes pics, mp3, videos ,games. avoid saving data on phone memory unless you have no memory card (mmc)

Formating phone will delete all your files in the phone memory so you should back up all your data before doig a full format
