Under most circumstances if the timer knob does not move under its own power there is either some striped gears within the timer or the timer motor has gone bad on you.
however some of the newer units control the timer knob movement by a computer control board. a complete model number would be most helpful.

The timer that changes the cycle wont change from wash to rinse to spin i have been doing it manualy by pushing in nob and turing myself

If a mechanical timer is fitted more than likely the timer motor is burnt out. This part is usually not available on it's own & you will need to replace the timer.

Zanussi tempoline not working, son twisted nob mid cycle it then stopped and wouldn't drain. Now not doing anything! Any ideas? I assume its a error code flashing up

The first step of a dishwasher is a drain / rinse drain. I would turn the dishwasher off at the socket, turn the nob to the off position only turn this in a clock wise direction IE: the direction the nob would naturally move. Turn on back at the wall and start as you would normally. The dishwasher will empty the water out in its first step then should cycle through as normal.

My washer will not spin or drain

most washers have a timer relay if it has started to go out this is one of the problems that can happen so check thie timer relay it is the big nob you turn to start your washer. Just so you know sometimes the relay cost more then a new washer but it's worth cecking out.
