Telephone turn-on Hello, I need to make the final phone connection from the qwest terminus to my house. I have an alternate phone carrier with no technicians, so Qwest connect it from the alley to the box, but I have to make the connection from the box to the house. Red and Green Wires. Often in the box there is a phone jack connection you can tie into without having to strip wires too.

I have a cordless phone that every time I try to make a phone call the busy signal comes over my phone how can I correct this problem

Are you getting a continuous busy signal, or just five or six quick beeps then a dial tone?

If the latter, you have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

If the former, please add a comment to this question and specify the make and model of your phone.

Hello friend, you seem to be talking about how to get broadband / Internet to your computer.
Sounds like you need to buy a wi-fi router and install it at the phone company connection. This will then 'broadcast' your Broadband Internet all over the house. You also need to buy a 'Wi-Fi dongle' (check on Ebay) which you plug in to a USB port on your PC. Install the above two as per their Instructions and you should be fine.

Why no dial tone. Only static?

If that happens on all phones and you have copper wiring inside and out it usually is caused by a high resistance open (bad wire connection) either inside or outside the house.. If it happens on only one phone it is either ther phone itself (swap with another phone to prove it's the phone) or the wiring to the phone has a loose connection or is bad. If it happens one all phones test it where the telephone connection comes into the house. If it is still noisy the call the local TELCO. Wet lines can also cause the same problem so if you suspect there was any water leaks in the house disconnect the inside wiring from the telephone entrance connection before testing other if the problem is inside TELCO will charge. If you using a wireless phone use a wired phone to do the testing.

My in house telephones are not working, but the internet is working.WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE TEELEPHONE WORK AGAIN.

Have you paid the phone bill? Are you supposed to have phone service?

Providing that you have a contract with the phone company and it's paid up, take a hardwire telephone out to the grey junction box on the outside of the house. Open the junction box and plug your phone into one of the two phone jacks inside, Try the phone. If you get no dial tone, try the other phone jack.

If you get no dial tone from either phone jack, borrow a hardwire telephone from a neighbor and try both jacks again with the borrowed telephone.

If no dial tone with your phone or your neighbor's phone, then the problem is on the phone company's side of that junction box.

If your neighbor's phone works but yours doesn't, the problem is your phones - lightening strike, maybe?

If your phone works in the junction box but not inside the house, then the wiring from the junction box to your house jacks has a bad connection somewhere. Someone - you or someone else - will have the arduous task of tracking down where that bad connection is.

Contact your telephone carrier. They may be able to tell you who are the people calling you. Have you thought about answering the calls and ask the callers who they are?. If you recognize a voice that calls you repeatedly (without recognizing the person), you can lodge a complaint with the police department and inform your telephone carrier about the nuisance calls.

Caller ID is not working

Hello Samiran mandal, here is a solution.I purchased one cordless telephone (Siemens Gigaset) in Germany. I also had the same problem, caller-id did not work. I purchased this telephone because we can set different ringtones for different caller groups. But, if caller-id doesn't work, this feature also doesn't work. I had gone through internet and finally found that CA electronics, Bangalore has it and got it through courier (I live in Pondicherry). It worked flawlessly for two years. Then it stopped working. For 'no reason' I ordered for a 'caller-id' unit on ebay for Rs.75/- (+ Rs.75 shipping). I just got the unit and fixed it to my line. Very very surprisingly, my cordless telephone is now showing caller info. This is a real surprise to me. By the way, caller-id unit is "Eurotel" make, DTMF/FSK caller-id. I feel this is very nice solution. The 'caller-id' unit is nice (backlit display) and also there is no need of converter for using the caller-id feature of your foreign telephone. I connected caller-id between the line and telephone. That's all. Enjoy.

Telephone devices connected as alternative ansering allows for one person or the other to respond especially devices at the same residence. E. g. devices may share the same line like several telephones situated in the bed room interconnected to living room telephones allowing for the same person or owner to answer from any location of the structure. A situation that the telephone connection is thought to be malfunctioning requires consultation with the networking company. Usually, an experts technician would provide separate telephone lines to each devices least interfering with responses. alternatively, wireless telephone networking with modem installations provides residential, office locations networking where several devices share signals least interfering with neigbor response resources. Contact a network structure about wireless networking, broadband networking connectivity at residences, offices, schools or elsewhere.

Two telephone mastersockets?

First things first.

You want to drag the phone line around for the Sky+ HD connection?

Unless you use Sky Box office or other Sky online services you don't need to hook a telephone cable up to ANY Sky set top boxes.
The telephone cable is a means for Sky to monitor your box position and monitor your viewing choices.

If however you do use Sky's online services you "can" connect another line to you main line. Just make sure you connect the correct coloured cables to the correct pins in your sockets.

Further note...

For a Sky+ connection you need to coaxial cables coming off your satelite dish. Incase you didn't already know this.
