Question about GE Washing Machines

1 Answer

Good morning, I hope you can assist me today. My GE washing machine will start a cylce and run through til it hits the rinse cycle then stops. It will do this on all types of cycles (delicates, permanant press, normal, etc). It just stops before the rinse and does not drain. (Yes I have to find a way to get the dirty water out this afternoon). What could the problem be?

Your lid switch is most likely the culprit. its wired into the circuit so that the unit will not spin, etc while the lid is open to avoid broken limbs etc from unsuspecting, and uneducated arms, etc.
it will not allow the unit to pump nor spin out until it is repaired/replaced.

Washing machine keeps draining during rinse

You may be experiencing a condition known as "siphoning". This is caused by the drain hose not being high enough off the floor, or not having a proper air gap at the standpipe in order to drain properly. This creates a suction and the washer will constantly drain as it tries to fill. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575830-how_to_prevent_washer_siphoning

In the majority of the cases, this problem is attributed to improper installation, rather than an actual problem with the washer. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Washing machine Series 80 Kenmore wont drain water after it's RINSE cylce including the motor. It's like the TIMER stopped after the RINSE CYCLE. I think it's the timer.

does it drain after the wash cycle? if it does, then I don't think it's the timer. It uses the same contact there as for the rinse cycle. Do you hear the motor running as if it's trying to drain? If the motor is running, perhaps the pump itself is no good? Just a couple things to check. Hope it helps.

On HE3T wash stops in middle of cylce and flashes F2

"F02" is a Long Drain error. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Most commonly, your drain pump has something clogged in it causing the drain flow to be obstructed. I would begin by checking the drain pump reservoir. I provided a follow-on link with the advice I gave you that explains how to do this. If you have any questions along the way, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Washer stopped after wash cycle

The lid switch is the culprit. Push down on the lid it should start. It needs to be adjusted . the tab on the lid is not activating the switch. Try triming the door bumpers.

Goes through all cycles by will not drain or spin.

If the timer hangs at points in the wash cycle, and you can manually advance, then the timer continues to run or runs shortly before hanging again, then the timer is bad and needs to be replaced.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
