SOURCE: "howling" noise during spin cycle (still there after changing burned off belt)

Travioso, there was two service flashes out on this model concerning the seal and bearing which means they had an issue with this washer. The howling noise you are hearing is the bearing and will need the new designed triple seal and bearing kit. This should be covered under your warranty, I believe it is 5 years. The numbers for the service flashes are TDL-0048A-B. Call Maytag and inquire about these service flashes, these should be covered. Catriver.

SOURCE: DRUM HAS STOPPED SPINNING

Well, I failed to find your product but found close and I've read the manual and can see no sign of anything being able to be presed that would stop motor operating in its wash cycles, I take it that you have totally drained/removed clothing and let machine get to normal start position, and done the standard disconnect from power, and plug it back in and test again and make sure no flashing lights are present and door is locking correctly

Possibility exists that your balance switch is faulty I'd look at that if not then Either motor is dead or control board is faulty

If you know your way around electricity then you could test if power is being supplied to motor.

As for the count losing 10 mins then thats pointing to control board fault (quite possible due to operations panel being operated)

SOURCE: zanussi aquacycle 1000 washing machine spin problem

this is possible due to a bearing collapse or bearing spider broken. this causes drum pulley to be out of line and the belt comes off

SOURCE: My Hotpoint Aquarius WF210 washing machine drum is not rotating

I think the belt has come off or has been damaged.

To open the machine slide out the machine. On the back panel lower 1/3 you will see a plastic panel remove the screws and the panel will come away. Inside you will see the belt. I suspect you will need to reattach the belt of remove it and buy a replacement.

Machine worked fine to start with . Then stopped. Will fill water but drum wont turn on a wash cycle. And wont spin on spin cycle. But Belt seems fine. Can you help.

The pump needs to be replaced. The pump controls the agitation for the wash cycle, also controls the tub for draining & spinning after the wash & rinse cycle. The belt has nothing to do with it. Pump is very simple to remove & replace, and not too expensive, it's plastic.

Hotpoint BWD129 Spinning Difficulties

IF it sits and you can turn it later, the only thing that would cause that is something heating up and becoming seized. When it cools off it frees itself. I would check the bearings on the drum.

Siemens xlm1600 drum doesn't turn - motor running - full load of wet washing. Inlet/outlet checked and cleaned - ok. Won't even turn when empty. Whats up?

something jammed between outer drum and inner drum or bearings jammed, if any off these then belt will be burnt Re: Jeff

Drum not rotating The machine is draining fine and water supply is fine. The drumm is not rotating .. there is no detectable motor noise (humming or straining) Some clicking fronm near top front panel.

hello have you check the belt at the back might come off or snaped if the brushes on the motor could be the cause 2 plastic block sit either side of the motor made of carbon these wear down can cause the motor to stop working hope it helps

Drum has stopped working. everything else seems to be ok

If the drum has stopped working it can be a few things.
  1. Moter
  2. Water level sensor (doesn't know if the water level is right, so it does not turn the moter).
  3. bad belt for the moter.
All good things to check.

Drum not turning

If you are certain that the motor was turning, then the only things that come to mind are that:
  1. The belt is stretched or worn-Replace as there is no adjustment.
  2. The drum is stalled, either because it has seized, or there is something stuck in the drum.
  3. The motor brushes are worn, and will not cope with load of drum, check brushes.
Try running it on fast spin without the belt on , if it spins o/k, then that would indicate the motor is o/k.
Please leave a fixya rating for my solution.
Thanks.
