Remove the battery, wait 1 minute and replace it. Reboot the laptop into safe mode and run your virus checker. If you don't have or can't run it in safe mode, then boot to windows and run it there. Either a Virus or NON Compatible driver loaded into your system and caused it to stop working. Once you reboot you should be ok, but unless you really need that program I would removed it through control panel, add remove programs. Let me know if this solves your problems. Thanks //D

Replacing keyboard for advent 7108 laptop

I have had the same problem several times over and it is VERY likely that the liquid has reached other components (specifically the motherboard) and will corrode anything that the liquid has come to rest on. The keyboard itself is easy enough to remove and replace, but the only place I am finding parts for advents is in the UK. This means replacement of the keyboard COULD be costly and in the long run the computer may fail due to corrosion especially if it was pop or juice or any other acidic liquid. Here is the link I found for a possible solution.  http:/www.adventspares.co.uk  if they dont have it, these guys might... http://www.techno-mart.co.uk/advent.html
Good luck, and I hope you havent damaged your motherboard! Kirk
