Camera error # E45

Just Google "Kodak E45 Error", apparently its a lens jam problem which you can sometimes cure by 'slapping' the camera on your hand.

Error e45

Hi,

Kodak indicates that the e45 error means that it's time to repair your camera.

But, it could be that your battery no longer has the capacity to adequately power the camera, especially the lens function. Lithium Ion batteries lose capacity over time. If your battery is over 3 years old, a simply replacing the battery may solve the problem.

ERROR CODE E45 pops up on start up. I have been

Hi,

E45 means the lens is jammed, tip so lens is facing down and shake to see if you can dislodge. Look between the lens and the body and see if you can see any dirt or sand..

As you have identified, the cost of repair is more than the value of the camera so you have nothing to lose from here...

Try and dislodge the lens, smack the camera into your hand to try and free up lens, wiggle the lens to try and free it up.

If no luck dismantle the camera and see if you can free up...
Unless the last option would be to throw it and purchase a new camera.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Kodak digital camera V705 -error 45

Hi!
E45 means that a focus error occurred or the MCU BOARD malfunctioned. I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair. It's a hardware problem. You should contact your local Kodak service center.
