Jams for Legal Fax only

I have a canon gp200s that jams only with legal size faxes (not legal copies, and not letter faxes). This doesn't seem possible to me for it to know the difference. It's jamming (fanning) as the paper is exits. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info. I told the service guy about your answer and he agreed. However, when he was doing the repair, he messed it up SOOO bad, that it no longer works. He thinks one of the power supplies must have gone out. I don't remember the maintenance code it kept having, but he said that was the problem. We had to buy a new copier (an HP all-in-one).

I wanted to leave some feedback to tell you how much I appreciated your feedback. Unfortunately, I'm unable to say if that fixed it or not, since the repairman broke it worse.

Check page setup properties. Often the extra long sheet has problems due to feeding errors because it's set up for legal size or letter size running legal size.

How do I fax legal size paper

You can either copy the legal size document at 87% to bring it down to A4 and then fax it, or you should be able to go into the fa settings when you go to fax the document and a resizing/zoom option should be there for you to change the size to 87%....
Hope this helps!

How to fax

Load an original in the automatic document feeder (ADF)
You can copy, scan, or fax a single or multiple-page A4, letter, or legal-size document by
placing it in the document feeder tray.
The document feeder tray holds a maximum of 20 sheets of letter or A4-size paper or 15
sheets of legal-size paper.
To send a basic fax from the control panel
1.
Load your originals. For additional information, see Load originals.
2. Enter the fax number by using the keypad, press Speed Dial or a one-touch speed
dial button to select a speed dial, or press Redial/Pause to redial the last number
dialed.
TIP: To add a pause in the fax number you are entering, press Redial/Pause,
or press the Symbols (*) button repeatedly, until a dash (-) appears on the display.
3. Press START FAX Black.
If the device detects an original loaded in the automatic document feeder, it
sends the document to the number you entered.
TIP: If the recipient reports issues with the quality of the fax you sent, you can
try changing the resolution or contrast of your fax.

It says wrong paper size for incoming fax. How do i stop the fax

You have to contact the sender of the document and have them correct the page description on the fax.

Your printer is reacting to the page description that comes with the fax. For example, the page on the sending uit says legal while your unit is set for letter. You are being warned that you have the wrong sized paper in your printer.

Sending and receiving fax on legal size paper on

What's the question? You can send a fax on legal size exactly as you do with lettersize. As for printing, you only have 1 size of paper available at a time (1 paper source) , so put legal in it if you want.

NP 6030 paper jam

It may be this simple:

1- as silly as it may seem, are you sure the size  is correct, if it is a letter size paper and it says legal, it will jam. open the paper tray and make sure the guides are snug againgst the paper,

does it say letter (or legal) for the tray you are going to use, if they do not correspond then look behind the tray inside the machine, is there a paper jammed in the back?

Or not so easy

2-You are having a sensor problem, take a look at the duplex tray,

pull it out and look at the sensors ( black little levers that stick out) are there any pieces of paper, can you move them and they spring back into place?

How do I copy a legal size document?

You need to change it in the menu, it's stopping because once it reaches the letter size the sensor detects that there is still paper there and jams.
