Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

My LG washing machine is showing an error code OE, I know this is a drainage problem and have cleaned the filter and also removed the pipe that is attached to the small pump and found a blockage in there as well, The trouble is, after doing all that the machine will wash and empty but when it is on the rinse cycle it will not empty or start to spin, I can here the pump making a noise but the small green thing that you can see if you look into the filter aperature does not turn, could the pump impeller be jammed, Also when on tyhe rinse cycle the time left indicator only decreases one minute, ie if it starts on 8 mins it will go to 7 and stay there, any ideas please, thanks, Keith.

It could be jammed or it may have gotten damaged when you had the blockage. If it does,t drain the cycle will not advance.

WASHER DISPLAYED "OE" NOW IT WILL NOT DO THE SPIN DRY

Hi there, my mum actually had that problem with her LG washing machine, we did clean out all the drains and hoses just like you did, and also checked the pipes for any damages(cracks/ bends). Turns out the cause was that the machine just wasn't sitting level, so it wasn't draining out properly. Water just collected inside the front of the machine causing that error. Check if the machine is level, and while you're at it check your filter for clogs.

Here is a manufacturers repair service "Training manual" this will help you sort your problem, As you say this is usually, the filter or drain hose. If it is NOT there you may have to suspect the pump, or drive to the pump as suspect. Work through the manual; and I am sure you will sort it.

My washing machine showing an OE error before end of cycle

OE error is noyhing but an Outlet Error.. OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Clean and straighten the drain hose / clean the drain filter. Check the hoses (drain hose) and the pump filter but if it didn't cure the problem then turn the thing upside down and strip the pump out of it check if anything is caught in the impellor.. if so remove it and everything will be fine..

Morning, LG WD1295FB error OE, plese advise

An OE error presents if the washing machine has not successfully drained the water in ten minutes. However, the OE error code does not always mean that the washer requires a service call. If periodic maintenance has not been performed on the washer, there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service. oe_led.jpg oe_lcd.jpg LED display models LCD Display Models Step 1: Check the drain pump filter. Step 3: Confirm that the washer is leveled properly. Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. If periodic maintenance has not been performed on the washer, there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service.

Step 1: Check the drain pump filter.
Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through the drain hose, then lay a towel down to catch the water, and remove the filter. Clean the filter thoroughly and restart the machine.
Step 2: Check the washers drain hose.
If the drain hose is not installed properly, the washer will not drain properly. The drain hose should not be installed more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine.
Step 3: Confirm that the washer is leveled properly.
If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. If this is the cause of the problem, please level the machine using the supplied leveling wrench. When you place a LEVEL on the washing machine, the bubble should be in the center. Confrim that the washer is leveled from side to side and front to back.

For LG WM2233HW, Error Code OE. Already check drain hose and filter, all clean. Try different cycles, TUB CLEAN, SPEED WASH. Same error code. No drain.

Replace the water pump. Because the water can not pump out, the machine idles for a while then stops with the error code OE. The technician said, the drain hose should be hang high before curse down to the drainage so air can not go to the hose.

LG washing machine keeps stopping and it says OE

The LG error code OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Presumably the water isn’t being emptied properly. Check the exit hose, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Clean the drain filter out. Then while the filter is out, take a flashlight and look into the filter hole. We had this problem and discovered a metal bottle top lodged in the hole which goes to the pump. Removed the bottle top easily and the machine works fine.

LG WASHER/DRYER

OE is a drainage error.

This can be anything from a plugged filter screen to a faulty drain pump.

The filter screen location and cleaning procedure can be found in your owner's manual or online at the LG website.
