My computer has no sound - PC Desktops

    ive gone through every sound and volume setting i can find and still have no sound from my computer

Hello janconn 9,

1. Check the volume settings in the Volume Control. You can access this by right clicking the Volume icon at the lower right side of your screen. Also make sure you have chosen the correct mixer device under OPTION > PROPERTIES in the Volume Control. Make sure nothing is muted and that you have the necessary panels available - Master Volume, Wave, SW Synth, etc.

2. Install the latest sound card drivers from the manufacturer's website.

3. Finally, do what IB4G2008 said and check the Device Manager to see that audio is active without any exclamation marks.

check to see that audio is active without any marks.

My pc does not support sound


If there is a sound device on motherboards find correct drivers (Realtek hd audio or ac97 drivers), for sound cards installed in computer look for driver and install from manufacturers website.

Just bought new speakers i know they work. but the sound through my computer does not work even through head phones. how do i fix this?


Check your computer if the driver of your sound card is installed by play a music/mp3 in your windows media player if no error your sound driver is installed already...if there is a error installed first your sound driver...you can check also your speaker to another computer with installed sound driver, if this working...your computer have a problem with your sound driver..

Lost sound...may have deleted sound max...tried to reload with realtek 97 ac, but, the PC does not recognize this hardware...


may be it's ur sound card driver problem, try to reload windows, if it doesn't work, install a pci sound card, it will work

Tin like sound from small speakers only. No sound


switch on your speaker set in full volume unplug it from computer touch the plug , as you touch you can hear a sound ( loud hum sound) if the speaker is working. If okay then check the right jack, plug it into green color jack. you can try if your computer is okay use a headphone plug it into the jack in PC , if the computer is okay you may hear the sound.

i think your computer audio is not in shape to boost a great sound. specially when it is built-in sound in the motherboard of your computer. see your computer / motherboard manual's if the driver's you have AC '97 then you cannot really boost sound.coz it's a generic driver's for sound card. if try also to update your driver's (sound). by seeing the brand and the model of your motherboard or computer and go to manufacturer websites for update. after update if can't help, but you really need to boast a great sound then you can really buy a PCI sound card 6 channels or 24bit 5.1 or 24bit 7.1 f your sound system have are compatible with this. or has an interface like this - audio 5.1 and 7.1.

I recently installed a new modem provided by verizon then lost all of my sounds. Can you please help me recover them ?


You're saying that there's no sound coming on your computer or you lost the songs save on your computer?? If the problem is there's no sound coming from your computer make sure the sound device is working properly check it under device manager..
