Stop using the tablets. they don't work in hard water areas. I think what you are dealing with is hard water deposits. Use "Lemi shine" for your main wash and the packets for your pre-wash. No one has harder water than where i live... Lemi shine works awesome!!!!

I used to use a lot of salt but lately everything, except sweet things, tastes way too salty. The only things that taste right are sweet things. Everything else is off in some way.

This is good. The average person consumes way too much salt, and most processed food has lots of salt, sometimes with sugar as well !

If you are now picking up the excess salt in food, it means you have decreased your intake and are no longer desensitised. It is best for your blood pressure and kidneys.

Waterside water softener model MC250 Dear Sir, Salt level did not go down during regeneration. I poured 2 pints of warm water to break solidified tablet salt, I found moist salt, but very little water in...

the salt in use should water softener salt and nothing else
there is water added to the salt crystals up to the overflow hole
during regeneration that salty water (Brime) is drawn into the unit and upon finishing the process that reserve is refilled for the next time
there is little salt actually used during the regeneration process ( around 4 regenerations to a 25 kg bad )

How do you do the master cleanse?

The master cleanse requires ORGANIC cayenne pepper, ORGANIC lemons, ORGANIC maple syrup.( grade B.) Sea salt. ( the salt cannot be iodized salt. It has to be sea salt or himalayan rock salt from the health food store) You also need a laxative tea. ( a strong one ) For 10-30 days, you will eat nothing, drink nothing, except for lemonade that you make with purified water( 1 Litre) with the juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbs of maple syrup and cayenne to taste. You may drink unlimited amounts of lemonade daily.
Every night you drink your laxative tea. Every morning you make your salt water flush. 1 quart of warm water and 2 teaspoons of your sea salt. You drink this down and try not to ****. Do NOT leave the house. Stay near a toilet as this will produce an urgent bowel movement. Also, no store bought lemon juice as it contains chemicals and nitrates, you MUST use real lemons

Hi i have a 18 x 48 above ground intex frame pool with a salt water pump /chlorinator system. i have put the required amount of salt in 75 kg and it has fully desolved. the alarm keep coming up on the pump...

Hello,
the amount of salt that they reccomend in the book is just a starting point
You need to get a salt test kit that reads in #'s not colors
Get your pool to as close to 3000ppm as possible
lower than 2800ppm and you will not produce enough chlorine
any higher than 3500ppm and you can trigger high salt alarm, have bad tasting water, or even get cloudy water
Like you have done, when adding salt , filter only for 6 hours or so to fully disolve

Dishwasher and salt

run a few times with nothing in the machine on full washes it may be that the salt you are using is not suitable for that machine also check that you have the machine plumbed into the hot water outlet.

Salt indicator light comes on?

Check the instructions which are freely available from www.miele.co.uk or the relevant site for your country. Browse to the current models and you should find the PDF for your model. For non-current models, instructions are under the link "Customer Support".

In general, the instructions are as follows:
If the water in your area is very soft and constantly lower than 0.7 mmol/l (4 °d) you do not need to add dishwasher salt. The water softener must, however, still be programmed to correspond to the water hardness level in your area. (The salt indicator light will still come on, but should be ignored).

Important: Before filling the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with approx. 2 litres of water to enable the salt to dissolve. Once the dishwasher has been used, there is always sufficient water in the reservoir.

Inadvertently filling the salt reservoir with powder or liquid dishwasher detergent always leads to serious damage to the water softener. Make sure you have picked up the correct packet of dishwasher salt before filling the salt reservoir!

Only use special coarse grained dishwasher salt for reactivation. Do not use other salts such as cooking salt, agricultural grade or gritting salt. These may contain insoluble additives which can impair the functioning of the water softener.

To refill:
* Remove the lower basket and unscrew the salt reservoir cap.
* Fill the reservoir with approx. 2 litres of water (first use).
* Place the funnel provided over the salt reservoir and carefully fill with salt until the reservoir is full. The salt reservoir holds approx. 2 kg of salt depending on the brand used.

As the salt reservoir is filled, displaced water will overflow.
* Clean any excess salt from around the reservoir opening and then screw the cap on again firmly.
* Run the "Pre-wash" programme immediately to remove any traces of salt water from the cabinet.

For the Miele, the salt reservoir is usually under the bottom basket, the cap is usually grey in colour. [Only the latest models have the refill cap in the door itself].

You should be able to find dishwasher salt just about anywhere, I've even found it in Malaysia, sold at good ol' Tesco!! Brands of salt include Calgonit (Finish) & Somat.

Too much salt

Don't know about this model, but if the salt pickup is inline with the water the water may not be flowing in fast enough and the reduced pressure may be letting the salt in. Anyway, final rinse should remove the salt. Try putting two clean glasses (no salt taste) in the unit, one upright and the other down. Run the unit with no soap and stop it after each cycle and check the glasses for salt. If you still have it after each cycle, try filling the unit from the sink manually before the final rinse. If salt's still present, something's leaking
