Why does my 42 inch LGD450 have no sound after plugging headphones in

that is the way it is supposed to work. Plugging in headphones mutes the sound to the television's speakers, as well as any soundbar or theatre system.

Turn off internal speakers

This is usually a menu option that you can reach with your remote. I don't have this particular TV, but if you can turn them off, it is usually a menu configuration option. Hunt around with your remote until you find the configuration menu and look for the "sound" settings.

If your TV has a headphone jack, try plugging a set of headphones into the TV to see if that disconnects the internal speakers. If it does, go to Radio Shack and buy an appropriately sized blank plug and just plug that in to the headphone jack to disconnect the speakers.

I have bought several pairs of headphones for my gogear but they all sound like there is a problem with the connection only getting sound through one ear sometimes

The headphone socket in the GoGear is faulty. If you can hear sounds from both ear pieces when you wriggle the headphone plug in the GoGear, then the headphone socket in the GoGear is faulty. This fault can be easily fixed by removing the circuit board in the GoGear and resoldering the headphone socket to the circuit. You need a very fine tipped temperature soldering iron to do this job.

I want to watch some videos on my sharp lcd but using headphones without any sound coming from the speakers, but I don't find any headphone output. How can I do this??

First, since there is no proper headphone output on this television some people have been able to find an adapter to connect their headphones to. The other end of that adapter has a red and white RCA audio cable on it, and it would connect to your television's audio output. However I have heard from some people that they only get one volume level that cannot be adjusted when it works. Alternately you can connect your television to a sound bar or sound system that has an actual headphone jack and RCA audio inputs. If you still have a "boom box" sitting around with the RCA audio inputs you can connect the television to it as well. You need something to serve as a go between/center channel for this television that you can also connect your headphones to.

Make sure you have a sound card installed
    • you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there.
  1. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
  2. Make sure your speakers are plugged into a working power source and turned on.
  • Make sure your speakers are correctly connected to the computer.
On your speakers, find the cable that plugs into your computer. Make sure that the speaker cable is plugged into the speakers and the correct jack on the computer. For example, if the cable is a 1/8 inch cable, there should be a round jack for it on the back of the computer. If it is a universal serial bus (USB) cable, it will plug into any USB port on your computer.
  • Make sure your headphones are not plugged into the line out (headphone) jack of your sound card or computer (unless you want to be listening with headphones rather than speakers). When you plug in headphones, most computers automatically cut the sound to the speakers.
If these steps don’t solve the problem, check the information that came with your computer and speakers or go to the manufacturer's website.
